Default Port Battle invite queue broken/error.

So, today, 3/26/2008, at Spain v France for Campeche, I got a message saying that if "40 people declined before" me that I would get an invite. My friend in a 2nd Rate Triumphant got a message saying "If 11 people declined... etc".

Who got an invite first? That's right, I did. In fact in the second round of invites, all the people in the back of the "list" (20-40) got invites before people in the front (11-19). I declined my invite in an SOL to get my buddy and his Triumphant into the PB, and it got taken by a PR in a Herc. He was like 32nd in line, according to his voicechat confirmation.

What gives with these busted queues? How hard is it to generate a real list at the start of invites, listing off the top 100 waiting and then accurately report that list to folks?

/can we get a fix ETA?

Yeah, i can confirm this. I was 14th in line for that battle and another society member was supposed to be 7th in line, neither of us got an invite, while aparently number 50 got in as soon as he hit the 'ok' button for the 'your X in line for an invite.'

Is the line going backwards or something?

I too, can confirm this. Just now on Bonny [France v Pirate @ Port-de-Paix] I was 18th in the queue, a society member was 17th and the person who was 22nd in line got an invite and we didn't.

We have a single vent server to co-ordinate battles so we are all in discussion with each other ... there were others further down the list getting invites over those above them.

This was reported ages ago. We had people on standby and only 16 people got in the battle.

I was in the battle refered to in the Op's post.

At first invites, i got the message telling me I was 50th in line. When i clicked OK, i immediatley got an invite.

Weird.

I think it's more on a lottery based system then actual numbers, it could rerun the picks the second go around? Not sure PB's need a huge fix in general since no one shows up when pirates are raiding anyways, why lose ships for no reason as they say?

If it's a lottery system, then why would it say "If 5 people decline their invitation, you will receive an invite"

That text is very, very clear and specific, and the result does not gibe with the predicted outcome.

Happened again, 3/29/2008, Ruddy Cove PB, Spain v Rats, 1:50 PM PST.

Hannah Snell: "If 5 people decline, you will receive an invitation"
K0nartis Stormer: "If 22 people decline, you will receive an invitation"

Result:

k0nartis receives invitation, Hannah does not. K0nartis gets his invitation before the 5th, 4th and 16th persons in queue.

Can we get a red post on this?

edit: Had to replace his o's with 0's, why the hell is it bleeping his name, is that a swear word in some language I do not speak?!?

We called off our 'you're in if x people decline' numbers in nation chat. I was no. 16, Hannah no. 5. The number 22 got in, us lower numbers did not. Confusing, to put it mildly...
