It is a known bug, they are working on it. I reported it a lot time ago so don't worry about submitting it.

I'm not sure if it has to do with the kelp or seaweed or whatever that is, but that is where I tend to find those FIX ME PLEASE things.

Is a game really not allowed to have an easter egg?

In LotRO, the Hobbit that ended up smashing the head off of a goblin into a hole did so with a club that looked like a golf club. The whole mission line is nothing but golf jokes.

GTA 3 has a building where you run through the window and there is actually an Easter Egg on a pedistal.

One of the Tony Hawk games has the Star Wars Kid in an apartment.

Starcraft has Warcraft 2 references all over the place.

There's a BILLION (ok, maybe not) easter eggs and pop culture references in this game. There's a few threads about easter eggs here, and on the archived beta boards.

I almost hate to be this big a geek, but here I go.

I think it is worth pointing out that Tolkien actually wrote that joke you refer to. It shows up in the second scene of The Hobbit, and references Bullroarer Took at the Battle of the Green Fields, defeating a goblin king named Golfimbul.

I should point out that I did, in fact, have to look up the names. I'm not that bad.

It's not a city, but the text is there. I saw it on an old Jacques Cousteau episode.
God used lazy devs aswell, the earth is still in Beta, it's mentioned in the Genesis release notes AFAIK. That's why the continents move, and species come and go, they are still working on balancing issues.
