The skirmish system will see me leave this game =( want pvp come ot the red! sink me, get sunk by me i don't care its all fun.
Not really arguing with you but I would consider 24 mid-level and a place where you can pvp. Low level pvp to me is generally under 20, and some people say they solo fine there.
On rackham today I don't see how anyone could solo successfully under 20 but some say it's possible while others would disagree.

It's not worth arguing because new players who want to pvp will soon have skirmish. I agree with you that skirmish will take away from OS pvp because the people who want balanced pvp will now primarily skirmish. Shallows is also an attempt to introduce some balance to OS low level pvp. Some will argue that it changes nothing. We'll have to wait and see.

AOC is almost here, I hope FLS moves quickly to improve PVP. I think some of the current playerbase we'll soon be making decisions as to where they have the most fun. FLS needs to have something going for it that helps them win that arguement.

i spend about half the time as a duo, the other half solo. I have been in a group of 6 a couple times to hunt out gank squads but thats it. I dont like group PvP, i prefer just the 2 of us or solo.

Agreed, although I think its at L19 that you can start. At 19 you can get the Sleek Xebec which is the first decent soloing ship I think. Then Sleek Hermes, MC Cutter, and MC Hermes.

I dont think it will matter much. Most of the people who are going to move to AoC or Warhammer are going to do that no matter how good this game is. The people who like fantasy based avatar combat, raids, elves, etc. This game will survive on a niche playerbase that like sailing ship combat. Probably a small playerbase, but I think it will be big enough to support the game.

like insted of pirate pvp, when the towns going down, how about lower lvl pvp? or just making a new stage, first lower lvl pvp, then pirate the full blowen pvp, just an idea, i think a lot of younger players (as in lvl, not age) will agree with me
That's totally incorrect. As level 16 pirates a friend and I were caught in combat with a level 39 spanish player in a large frigate (might have been a Stras, there were no bow chasers) as we skirted a red zone near La Isabella. I'm sure that he thought he'd win, I mean, 2 level 16's right? Hah. We were literally on the edges of our seats the entire time, but we ran circles around him, closed, took down his sails and my friend boarded him... and we won.

So the statement that you must be lvl 50 to PvP is a myth. The only thing stopping lower level players from PvPing is fear. Just reconcile yourself to the fact that you WILL lose sometimes, but everytime that you do, learn from it. ---

Seconded on the fear factor. Most people only think about their immediate safety, and don't think about what a group can acomplish if coordinated. A lone high-level opponent has to divide his focus (and thus firepower) when facing more than one foe, or focus on one and leave himself open to attack and damage from those being ignored.

Nothing wrong with aproaching someone from a similar level and asking if they want to go hunting for a higher level target...
