This is why I have grown to love the French nation. Polite, friendly and able to say GG even when things have been REALLY bad for them. On top of this French sugar cake there is no excuses, lame whines or flames of griefing and exploiting behavior to try and cover up thier defeat. Down to the bone the French nation has again and again proved themself as honorable moralkeepers that are so polite and friendly that it almost sickens my black pirate heart.

French, you guys are UBAH and I tip my hat for you.

That's how we used to roll back in closed beta. Enter the fight, aim at the enemy, go full speed and devil take the hindmost (though ironically he usually took the guy on point, what with the cannons and the shooting and the glaven matrix, oi).

Frankly I find the idea of a high speed pirate monster blob pretty worrying. But I feel it should be pointed out that neither Spain nor as I understand it Britain have really put out their best and brightest against the Pirates yet, and with good reason, those crazy emos will kill your doodz and steal your winboats. France, much as we all love those crazy croissant chompers, are still a work in progress as a port battle force.

Part of me relishes the idea of getting stuck into the Pirates in the sort of close quarters brawl they love so much. Other parts of me tell to stop being silly. The sad thing though I think about fighting pirates is there is never the incentive to really pull out all the stops to fight them that you get in the national battles. Sure fights between nations have issues, people get timid about their ships, but Pirates are probably never going to get to even see those ships as Pirate battles are written off as B-List from the get go.

The one thing that really strikes me about the Pirates compared to the Nationals, is their fearlessness. They just don't care!

Now, whether that's down to the easy come/easy go nature of their ships, or just the pirate player mentality, I don't know.

It kind of strikes a chord with real history though. The toughest opponents to fight through history have always been those who don't fear to die

Very insightful! I will not go into Pirate strategies or tactics, but let's just say that line fighting is futile against Nationals... so we have become creative. When the Nationals figure out how to combat this tactic, the Pirates will change the way we do battle once again! We are becoming an organized force that you will not be able to stop unless you bring out your biggest and best ships, but even that will be a temporary fix because we will destroy or capture them in order to even the playing field once again. Rest assured that we will remain honorable opponents, but Pirates will no longer be the joke of the server!

And if that does not work FLS will boost you a little more to make sure you can win just like they did in every patch till now

What I think is they can't form a proper line and they have free ships...

I would have say "that's all" but they have something more wich you call "mentality" but I believe they call that "fun", when we national are stress and feared. Finally if it's all a question of feeling we will be abble to fix it soon.. I hope^^

Of all the nationals,I think the French are the most like you strategically. We're not good at line fights either (yet!), so we've tried to develop other strategies.

Historically, you are like the barbarians, which swept across Europe, wiping out the oh-so-organised Roman Empire. Now.. all we need to remember is who beat them in the end and how

Faster horses, I think guys

That would be the Ottoman Empire who defeated the Basileia Rōmaiōn at May 29, 1453.
Not exactly sure if this what you had in mind as those barbarians did in fact not defeat the Roman empire.
