Default Milestone 6 Feature Discussion: New Inventory Slot for Pets

This post describes a pending feature to be included in Milestone 6: Blood in the Water. Please use this thread to share your thoughts and ask any questions you might have.

Important: While your feedback related to this feature is important, there is a very real chance that the information shared below will be changed or moved to a future milestone as a result of testing, or to make room for priority features. It is crucial that you take that into account before becoming too attached to a specific idea presented here.

New Inventory Slot for Pets
Currently, when a player chooses to display their pet, it takes up a valuable spot in their inventory. We want people to be able to display their pets without having to lose one slot and potentially handicapping their ability to compete in battle. A simple, yet important feature for animal lovers throughout the Caribbean!

Finally!

Excellent - thanks.

Might I also suggest that FLS add a bunch of pets to the game with quests to acquire them. Collecting appeals to some of us - would add a fun sideline to the game for us. Examples include monkeys, additional birds, lizards, etc. etc.

Dude, seriously. The unrest reduction in the defend port missions is still at one point after 1.5. Thats two patches later. Pets? Does your research suggest people buy games for pets?

They need to do both. Suggesting that they only focus on squashing bugs and balancing things won't really keep everyone engaged. It is the nature of MMO's that players expect continuous improvements and additions. They need to both do fixes (and you point to an excellent example) AND add to the game. Something like this is practically a freebie and no brainer. Low hanging fruit like this should be followed up on.

Let me clear up a few misconceptions here. First, just because we fix an issue dealing with pets doesn't mean that other important issues are being ignored. Second, these aren't being posted in the hopes that you throw a parade and name a holiday after us.

It really is simple: we are looking for constructive feedback. I'll encourage all the participants in this conversation to spend some quality time with the word constructive- because at this juncture, you are doing it wrong.

yes I get that, you are of course, correct. Its that it actually ended up in the milestone discussion that raised my eye brow. It is a no-brainer. Potentially not worth discussing. But also possibly not worth my posting so "same same".
