Default Ship combat camera lock to Capt.

Just like in PotC, have a camera that locks above the Capt's head, like in Avatar spaces. It would be pretty hard to sail and fight but it would be a lot of fun. The current camera stinks if you want to zoom in close.

I tried the 1st person view in avcom. You lose peripheral vision b/c of the camera view angle - 60 degrees I think. It can be set to 90 and 120, but it really needs to go to 180 to feel right. I'll try that today, but I suspect there will be a huge amount of distortion (and maybe lag too) even if that view is allowed.

I really would like it for ship combat because it does feel right. However, it'd be a big disadvantage so something to use for fun in skirmish combat perhaps. I can get the camera pretty close in now, but not at the captain's location and it has a slight downward angle that I can't figure out how to change.

We've been asking for this for years!

Apparently there are limitations involved. But I'd love to have the camera pitch and roll with the ship, so it felt like you were really on board.

Seasickness might be a problem for some though.
