1v1 avcom duels?!

Can someone explain the point of these, they arnt practice for the os, they have no relevance at all unless you want to show off your parrot.

I keep gettin spammed by idiots who think they are good at avcom because they have stun lol.

(I can maybe see the small possibility that you want to practice taking down the enemy captain in the small chance that you go down to 1v1 in a ship duel, but wouldnt it be better to practice on the ship duelin and then board?)

You're wrong and you have bad hair. That's right. I know about the hair.

Duels provide vital PvP avcom experience. A huge number of players of this game, til avcom duels, had probably never fought a real player face to face. Sure it's not a fair reflection of boarding combat, but it gives you a feel for it and it does show you a taste of the capabilities of a player character rather than an NPC.

Also it's rather fun.

I'd Agree with 1llusion, I think the 1v1 avcom stuff is a waste of time. Only way some players can win is pistols or stun.

The 2 Options should be.

- Ship Duel
- Avcom Duel ( But with Waves of Crew say 3-5 Each )

That would better prepare anyone who wanted practice.

If you are into avcom, just get on ships with similar crew and take turns boarding each other. That way you have NPC waves.

especially considering the setups for boarding and 1v1 are entirly different

It also helps to practice for missions so you don't waste smelling salts and bandages. I defeated several level 50 players when I was only 30 because they didn't know the first thing about avcom dueling.

And it is very fun. At the SGS we're trying to start a dueling club for people who wish to practice, gamble, have fun, and roleplay.

im not complaining about all duels just the 1v1 avcom one. At least in the ship one you can do avcom aswell with or without npc waves or you can just use all your waves 1v1 making the 1v1 avcom duel obselete
