I appreciate the kind words. Kinda feels like the applause in the forum as the lions advanced on the Christians. Or more apt, the sated lions thanking the sacrifices for a fine meal!
It was fun in a strange perverted kind-of-way to be in constantly changing pick-up-groups. Like starting with 6, but somehow no more than 4 had the courage to actually enter the battle, or a second shot at it someone wasn't flagged and wound up in NPC combat at the wrong minute, or....or.....or...... Fortunately when my original guild picked up stakes and moved on, I inherited a large number of Capri deeds. I can wear you down, I swear! I will say though, as one sided as the results were, it was nice that Griff was able to continually renew the group. He worked hard at persuading folks to join in, so the kudos for the continuous nature of the fight go to him. As a side note: For one battle another captian was going to bring a Val and wanted someone else to bring an SOL, so I had an Alex with 1 dura clogging a spot I really wanted something else in, so I tried it in OS. I had streamlined hulls and speed sails (no green) so it could move a bit with Teak/Gunports/St Elmos. The Phercs never dented it a bit. Eventually I was the last one left (the Val didn't make it into the fight somehow) and I was sail-stripped and my Avcom lack of skills showed, but it was a total surprise to me that an Alex with just a little speed buffing was actually viable -- that was something I never would have guessed. |

Ya we were a bit confused as you guys would pop out with sometimes up to 7 players it appeared, and as you said no more than 4 ever jumped in. Ones of those 4v3 was somewhat close where James bacon ran off in his HS.

I'm sure there was some re-thinking the risks as the pop-up window asked.....do you REALLY want to enter this fight? But in fairness, the odd new rules about when you are able to attack seem to screw stuff up. The last one to pop out of town wouldn't be able to enter the battle that just started (even though the circle was green) and that person would be sitting there looking at a bunch of other rats/frenchies not being able to enter until they could be split, so they would hop back into town rather than risk it.
Does autojoin override the "you aren't allowed to attack yet" gizmo? |

Something to think about:
Pirates would never let 4 brits just sit outside of MT and blockade it for any length of time. Fairly quickly, the call would go out and pirates would swarm in to annhilate the blockaders. Why, then, do the Brits let four pirates sit outside and dominate BT for so long? Surely you could have raised a force to deal with them. Anyway, that aside, it seems to me that the Brits have indeed been more willing to fight in the red lately. And they get a /tiphat from me for that. Keep it up guys. The only way to learn how to fight in the red is to get out there and do it. |
