Why continue an argument against trial servers?

It should be obvious: More sales.
Not everyone is you either. I've said this is my experience what people want to know about MMORPGs or not. Take it or leave it, I tire of you.

The retail game comes with a buddy key that's a 14 day free trial. I don't see any other trial necessary really.

Unhappy Why not a free try?

Why not a free try? You can always block player transfer and action house access if you want to be free from fee-free gold sellers... any gamer know the differences of a full-access mmprpg vs a limited one.

Sorry... but gamers don't give money just to try. these is anti-emporic and the only thing that you can win is less players.

see wow for instance... always give trials... with limited access... and always new players subscribe.

On the other hand... Gold Selling never dies because many players("cheaters") gives feed for gold selling. Anyone knows that a game with an economy, creates economy in the real world.

Sorry again... but ill never pay for a game that i have no trial experience with it.

what kind of marketing strategy is this? From 60s i suppose.

I must say I wholehartedly agree with being for a trial. No free trials seems dodgy at best and something being seriously wrong at worst. The community have given ample reason FOR it. There is no reason against it apart from goldsellers which are easily blocked. Face it, they are. They are blocked to 100% clientside in wow and almost all mmo's I've played have had the problem with goldsellers for a week or two when they release their trials. Then they quite quickly catches on and blocks the means for doing it. WoW is the only game so far that doesnt deal with it serverside but lets the clients do it instead.

So let me ask you instead. What's so wrong in the game that you want to hide it until after someone has paid for the game? Terrible lag issues? Servercrashes every 5mins? Not done yet? WHAT?

OMG!

Name ONE mmo that had free trials from the very beginning of its launch? because it took a LONG time before WOW offered it... I have played alot of games... and never seen one offer it from the release-date in other form than buddy-keys...

Wink Really need a demo

All games should have a demo/trial no matter what game it is if they dont have something like that i wounldnt trust em not to go broke and end up with one server and heap of lag, and all u mummy's little girls who live under mummy's wing and need there nappy changed get a job move out and then go buy every new game that comes out and tell me if u can afford to eat some of us have our own kids to feed. I dont buy games i cant have a taste of first nor do any of my mates, im not gunna waste $50 on a game when i could save that money and get a night out on the town.

Free Trial Key comes with the boxed game. I guess the idea is you pass it on. There was a really cheap 2 weeks pre-boarding box (though it had its issues, getting it in the UK was trickier than I thought it would be).

FLS have said trial keys/buddy keys will come later, but at the moment the focus is on those who've shelled out on the game established. Free Trials mean annoying Gold Sellers and Farmers a plenty, along with Griefing increases.

Its all ok to open trial if FLS take care: NO TRADE, LIMITED CHAT, NO /TELL, LEVEL CAP and GOLD CAP, its just a test drive, you dont need crash the car wile testing it!
Still they will use the trial accont to make that ****ty propaganda in worse english than mine.

got no problems with free trial

>>>>>>> IF <<<<<<<<<

very big 'if' there

IF the trial account cannot trade with other players
and
to continue the game they have to buy a key

after they get the key, then the trade block is lifted

Father1776 has the right idea, but I say take it one step further: allow us as players to auto-decline /tells from players in the free trial. This could be toggled, so a player that doesn't mind would have the option to get /tells from trial players.
