Default Success! Mass PvP

The huge furball of PvP outside MT is amazing. It's mass chaos out there. I've never seen so much action in a red zone. Fights everywhere.

Bravo FLS!

i love how the rats changed their tune xD

9 rats, 6 brits in heavies....they spent an hour trying to arrange a 9v6 gank rather then just 6v6ing the brits rofl xD

but yeh, pvp has been teh awesome!

We just had a 6v6 vs pirates.

We were smart about attacking. We never went +3, and ended up slowly filtering people in on both sides to make it a 6v6 (plus pirates got 1 reinforcement after we sunk one)

My pick up group of 2 Mercies, tigre MCs, and Cap MCs.

vs. 6 pirates in HH's, Mercies, mordaunts, a PH, and some other stuff as well.

Engagement was quick, we downed the PH very fast, they got reinforcements, we blew up a HH, and then the pirates withdrew having 5 left.

I almost got blown up though. good cover by my group.

Now please tell me how can you do this deep in red, with only 6 of your nation around, and like 30 enemy gank boats around?

Any decent PvP that has resulted from todays changes is a result more of people testing things out than of the system being much good.

There are some very positive elements, the reduced preparing ship, the ability to pile in on NPC fights, longer times to enter fights and thus entering from a different point - all good.

The bad points are the fact that any six man group looking to PvP against a numerous enemy can now be either ignored or zerged. The ULTRAGANK™ needs to be removed, there was nothing clever about ganking when it was six on one and there's nothing clever about it when it's nine+ substitutes on six. Also the ability to duck out of a fight and be replaced with a substitute needs to go.

I'd echo the sentiment of many on this subject that I have no clue how this made it off the test bed in its current form. These sort of changes should have been implemented gradually.

The most annoying thing of all is that one of the chief complaints about this game, one that has effectively killed three of the remaining servers, is population imbalance. And yet what do we have here? A patch that means a six man group attempting to attack another six man group is vulnerable to being swarmed. Ergo small nations cannot perform the sort of piecemeal damage to larger ones in red zones that they used to, meaning that the pirates have a free ride.

i doubt it will.

the attackers now need to have numbers, huge numbers, to be sure to outnumber the defender. else they wont stand against the defender, as they have the advantage.
the defenders could safely grind down the contention you put up, and when you try attacking the defenders they will "countergank" you in a 6 vs 9 or everything will end up in a stalemate and nothing happens, thus the port wont get flipped, defenders win.

if defenders are more numerous than attackers, well no need to get into that, its almost an auto win for the defenders then.

so basicly this means, the nation who can field the most people at a given time to attack or defend a port will win.

and thats the flaw about the new system. it was implemented to prevent ganking of lone ships. now it encourages a gankfest upon lower populated nations (at a given time)

if it was implemnted to prevent lone ships getting ganked then the dozens of screenshots we have of this occuring would suggest it has failed massively. and when was there a lack of pvp fights going exaclty ?

2nd battle

6v6- Pirates aggressors.

French forces, 3 Cap MCs, 1 Tigre MC, 1 Mercy, 1 Dauntless.

We got attacked by 2 arcadias, reinforced up to 5, i jumped in after 45 seconds to make it 6.

Pirates reinforced the 2 arcadias with a Cap MC, Tigre MC, Herc MC, and Conq Sleek.

At first we moved to withdraw, then headed to take the wind, then moved to engage. The Herc MC punched out by this time.

We then proceeded to eliminate 4/5 of the rest, 1 Arcadia escaped.

I got a MCM Captured deed! whee
