The difference is before those two worlds could co-exist. The 6-mans who sailed around looking for a fight were generally not as speed rigged as those who run solo or in duos or trios, hence it was rare that one of the speed rigged crowd could have been caught and killed by the 6-man.

BAHHHH! I sailed for 2.5 hours with 1 fight and it was only a gank. This is the second night in a row I haven't had a PvP battle and I think I'm cursed. I see all these threads and posts on all the epic battles, but I must have been eating dinner. Damn the in-laws!!

You should have stuck around. After a 2 hour frenzy of people trying out the new patch, its now dead. Its worse than ever -- failboats and zerging are literally all there is.

You wrong . My group was just 3-4 people that was not enough for a battle of 6-6 so we could just go anywhere as we could be jumped by 3-9 players on us ... no thanks !

I think a lot of the problems with the new patch is that people don't understand the mechanics. The only way to receive 9 battle slots is to be outnumbered by 3 players at the end of the 45 second battle timer. So if you are sailing with 3 players it is impossible to face 9.

I see a lot of people are afraid to "attack" because they think they will face 9 enemies but that isn't true.

if all are grouped on both sides, yes. However as it has been stated many many times. It is easy for those "defending" to abuse the new mechanic and put their side into a nice numbers advantage. There is very little the attacking nation can do to stop this if the defenders are truely trying to take advantage of the system.
