I want to play the game the way it was designed to be played. If that causes players to leave then that is a problem with the game design. It is not up to the players to give new players or trial players a "soft" version of the game just so they won't run away. It is FLS's job to design a game that keeps customers.

If everyone gave every level 19 freetrader in a bark a free pass through a red zone, then ALL cargo would be carried by level 19 freetraders safely through every red zone.

It is philosophies like yours that leads level 50's to make low level alts for the purpose of smuggling valuable cargo.

Think what would happen if everybody adopted your attitude and never attacked lowbies. It's pretty obvious: just make a low level alt to carry valuable cargo, secure in the knowledge that you can sail right through the red and nobody will ever challenge you.

I don't remember ever being forced to sail through a red zone.

If a player isn't able to handle being sunk by another player at level 10, they aren't going to be able to handle being sunk by another player at level 50. Its only a game. I'm not going to fatten up the cattle for slaughter later. I'd rather play against bulls, not veal.

Jack, that is a myth. There is no such animal as a non 50 carrying vital war cargo in the red anymore, if it ever existed. Its just ganking, pure and simple. Feel free to provide any actual proof of a baby seal carrying war cargo.

The point is that it would become reality if the suggestion was carried through. If FLS added a rule that said all character below level 20 were safe from being attacked, then all valuable cargo would be carried by characters below level 20. If we all stopped attacking low level player, then people would start using them to transport valuabel cargo, plain and simple.

If it's not vital to the war effort they shouldn't be sailing it through a war zone. End of story.

Agreed, and is there now or was there ever such a thing as 'vital war cargo' anyway? A freetrader races to port through a red circle- if he makes it or if he is ganked will it make a difference to the nation and RvR? Even a little difference? No.

It will make a difference to the pirate who got to steal the loot and feel all piratey.

Don't worry, Isildur has already waffled on his original design and now believes piracey to be "griefing" so I'm sure game changes are coming that will probobly remove player looting and PvP loss all together. So all you need to do is wait a bit. Until then however, piracey is a valid play style. Like it or not, it just is.
