Default How we can make it funner for lower lvls.

well guys i've been playing this game since Jan. of last year. and it feels like i'm just trying to get to 50.

i've got 2 charicters both around rank 33.
and the whole time i've been playing the game it seems like i've been trying to get to rank 50, because that's when all the real fun happens, i mean port battles, pvp, big ships, the list goes on.

now i think that we should make it more fun for players to be younger lvls and not just race to 50. I think we should make roses for them to stop and smell.

one of the ways i think we do this is is introduce lower lvl pvp circles.
now i know what you guys are thinking, that lower lvls can pvp as it is. yes they can, but they don't.
i spend hours sailing around pvp looking for lower lvl players until i get chased out by some big lvl 50 in his 4th rate. And the reason i don't find any younger lvl players in pvp is because they're scared crap-less that they're gunna get beaten up by the bullies in the schoolyard a lose their lunch money. (aka dbls and ship)

so i say we should introduce lower lvl pvp circles around the starting ports, and maybe make it less costly if you lose, this would give younger players (as in lvl) a chance to
expearience pvp without a big risk factor.

what about if we made it per lvl, so the starting ports would be lvls 10 - 19. some of the lesser ports would be 20 - 29. then some more important ones would be 30 - 39. and finally you would have 40 - 50 around the major ports.

now i'm not saying it has to work like that, maybe just something close to it.

now we all know, with lower lvl pvp comes lower lvl port battles. which i think would be a great thing for some younger players, again the same port placement and lvls would apply for these too.

and last but not least, instructory information on pvp.
this really doesn't exist yet. and i think it should. a way for lower lvls to learn about pvp.

anyway, lower lvl pvp could just be the begining of having a good time on the way to 50. i think this has great potential and i think it could take this game to a whole new lvl.

and i think that we could create lots more stuff for having fun being a younger lvl.

what do you guys think?

you said it yourself, lower levels can pvp as it is now. But they dont because of they 50 bullies. I dont care about the 50s roaming the circles, I still get out there and aid my 50 comrades as they counter grind or grind up. I hope on fleet battles and tag in the line as we manuver around to try and hit the fleets and incoming enemies. I may be slower, less armored, and under gunned compared to the 50s I am fighting and fighting with, but I dont fear the reaper, I laugh in his face. If there are rats out there who think teaming up together to **** a 20-30 lvl boat, thats there thing, but from what I have seen most the nationals have more descency and at least give you a chance. I just the other day was sank at the TB grind down by a spanish 50. We were in a fleet battle, I knew our manuver, but he managed to come up on my stern with his bow chasers right as i was clicking exit. He gave me an emoted nod, gave me a fair chance to manuver and defend myself, but in it was in vain and I went down. I chose to go out the way I did, noone forced me int PVP. But if you are going to play risk free until you hit 50 you are eliminating your own fun. I dont believe we need to change the pvp zones atall. I dont believe we need to bend for lower levels. I am a lower level and I dont fret at all about the 50s. So i may sink, so I may get closer to perma losing my boat,, I trust that my friends and society members will come to my aid in my hour of need and aid me in aquirering a new vessel. She may be a lesser ship, but she is a ship.

If you want lower levels to have fun in PVP then just suggest they take their tail from between their legs and sail into the circles, if they see a 5 50 banger sailing headstrong towards them, they can bail o quickly send out a call for backup. I would rather see a 50s cant kill less than 35 or 40 block put into effect than segregate pvp zones. If your a 10 and you want to pvp good for you, just realize that not everyone wants to because they feel they should only pvp with a high end vessel. Talk to the players before asking to change the game.

All right.

you kinda missed my point there.

my point was i want to pvp with my OWN lvls who have the same experience and skills as me.

so it's a fair match.

Oh i know that 'War is unfair' and all that but just once i'd like to fight someone my lvl.

One more thing.

Do you have an opening for a lvl 33 british NO in your society?

i'm currently un-societied because my soc moved to rackham. and i cant cuz i all ready made the move to antigua and i wanted a society with a good name.

I posted this awhile ago:

Quote:
I'd like to see a larger map divided into zones. Essentially zones about half the size of the current map. Make the zones jive with level ranges so you have newbie areas, end game areas, etc. Gate PBs in low level zones with shallows or other restrictions to let those levels duke it out and contribute to their nation. Add group missions related to port conquest (ala raid style content) in all of these zones for all nations. Add more towns, more missions, more areas for resource production. Gate resource harvesting and crafting in these zones to what is needed by those levels. Allow "teleporting" through key ports to other zones or via your own ships (dockmaster). Then put all of this on one server.
I think something like this would allow for level limited conquest participation. You could cap PBs by level since they have said doing things like shallows isn't something they want to do. Or you could just make it so ships below a certain level don't give contention, like MoVs. So, having your lvl 50 friends helping you flip Bartica wouldn't help you much, and if they did help you they'd get no contention anyway and therefore no invite to the PB. But basically the zones would be active with players in those level ranges and therefore they would be doing the bulk of the conquest activities. Instead of barring high levels, just make it so those activities have no value for them and they will migrate to higher level areas. It might allow for gankers, but I think the server players would police this to some degree.

How about a couple of "pvp sites" with some small content ADDED to the map.

You have all that sea East of the Brit and pirate Starter areas, North of Spain, etc.....for each one, toss a little "perma contention" zone around a new little island. Heck, make them little dutch islands so they don't effect the map.

In that red zone (small one the size of a 3k contention) around each little dutch island, all lowbies under "level X" can pvp.
Any PLAYER over a certain level cannot, regardless of his/her ship size.

Insta-lowbie pvp zones.

One thought anyway

For me it was all about the boat when I was lvling from 1 to 30, but I would like to see a lvl 15ish ship that is a double decker ship. I just don't like the long wait till lvl 27 I think it is before getting a really nice ship. Also, the first 12 levels are horrific if you are by yourself, so if you see a lvl 1 to 11 please give them a hand getting to 12 at least and maybe even get them a Van Horn Snow too.

Do what I have been asking for all along:

(1) Solo PvP flag: Players flagged Solo PvP are immune to NPCs outside of the Red Zone, and may only be attacked by other players/groups with equal or lower group strength. Solo PvP has no effect in Red Zones.

(2) Shallow water areas/ports: Create some limited shallow water areas/ports where no ship bigger than Medium can sail and/or engage in combat.
