Default Guide to the Supernatural

Welcome one and all, to my journey into the supernatural!

A couple of things I’d like to make note of first is that this isn’t designed to be a plain step-by-step walkthrough. If you’re doing these missions, I make the assumption that you’ve done plenty of missions before and that equally, you’re after a bit of a story. That’s the whole point of these. So I won’t be simply stating objectives, I’ll be putting my own little twist on the story, almost as if I was someone there with you guiding your way through the content.

The supernatural missions in themselves are 3 distinct chains; you can do one of two chains (chain A or chain B), both of which will leads onto the third (chain C), just by different means.

So this is what essentially this guide is going to be! You’ll notice below that the missions are all listed in their respective chains and simply clicking on them will take you to that mission. Equally, each chain has a top post, which again you can go to by clicking the chain title at the top of the mission lists. These have vital information on them about the chain you’re about to start and any pre-requisites it has, so make sure you read those!

Each of the links that point to the missions go to single posts, yet remember that if you want to carry on reading from that point, just click the bit in the top right corner of the single post (it says, "Thread: Guide to the Supernatural) and that'll load up the main thread from that point!

I do hope you’re prepared though as I’m going to take you on a journey of exploration, that’ll test not just your strength of body but will stretch your mind also. Now settle in while I tell you a tale…

Default Mission Chain A: Jaqueme Missions

So, you think you’re up for the challenge of the Jaqueme missions do you? We’ll see, perhaps you might just live to tell people of your adventures… If you’re lucky!

A note to the wise though, all the missions in this chain are classed as level 50 and do play as such. You will have difficulty with these missions at a lower level, unless you’re especially skilled with a blade and even if you are, ensure you’re kitted out with enough bandages and smelling salts to last the course.

With that in mind, you’ll need to ensure that you have at least a cordial relationship with the Acadamie Nationale and Royal Society before setting out on these quests, as the lady you’ll speak to first will have no words for enemies.

Anyway, make your way to Jaqueme and take a look on the beach on the left, you’ll see Tangela Demont, speak to her and your journey can begin…

You’ll soon find out that Miss Demont has quite the opinion of herself, yet it’s a well deserved one. She has been rallying the African population there to go against the plantation owners interests, so she and others can go back to building a nicer community more used to what they came from in Africa.

With this in mind, she charges you with sending a message to send a message to Pili Jambon, and individual who has been trying to persuade the people to stay as they are. She believes he’s working for someone, so there’s only one way to find out…

He’s hiding somewhere in Calvert’s Wood, near Jaqueme, yet he shouldn’t be hard to find for a Captain of your skill.

This is the chappie, who’s very easy to persuade against his current course of actions once you show him how sharp your blade is. Once you’ve had a “chat” you’ll need to come back to the beach so you can get back to your ship and report back to Tangela about a task well done!

Default Line in the Sand

Unfortunately for you, the actions that you have undertaken are starting to have some serious effects! With more of the towns people leave the plantations, the owners are starting to get desperate and hired some Sea Dogs to force the people back in line.

It becomes your task to once again flourish your blade and show these Sea Dogs that the people won’t be beaten into submission. When you enter their camp, you’ll find a small force there which you need to deal with using all deliberate force. They’ll be expecting you to turn up, so get ready for a fight!

They’re a tough little band and it’s clear to see why they’ve been causing the townsfolk problems; however you should find yourself up to the challenge.

Once you’ve dealt with them, Tangela will have a reward waiting for you as thanks.

Default Remember the Main!

Upon speaking to Tangela, it seems as things are starting to get a little bit out of hand. Although the breaking up of the meeting of Pili Jambon was a positive step, it seems that the combat has drawn some more unwelcome visitors, keen on taking advantage of the situation!

The Corsairs on the Main are in town and they’ve been meeting with the townsfolk, trying to convince them that their intentions are for the best interests of them. Tangela, however, it’s so easily won over by pirates, so she asks you for another favour and to go and deal with the Corsairs, who have setup camp in Plage a Vache.

You need to be prepared for a battle here, as you’ll be running amok on a Corsair stronghold. They have weapons but also a lot of men. That being said, killing a number of them should be enough to persuade the rest of them to leave Jaqueme in peace.

Providing your skills are up for it, Tangela will have another task for you once you’ve removed this unruly bunch. There’s no time to clean your blade, besides, it won’t be the last time you’ll need it…

Now that the townspeople are free of the more… unsavoury types, Tangela is keen to start re-building the community back to something that the people of Jaqueme can take pride in and enjoy their lives in peace.

Someone who she’s keen on getting back and working for the community again is someone called Gyasi Sel, who’s currently being held prisoner in Prison Royal de Leogane, placed there by the French for his ideas, which frightened them. Gyasi needs to be sprung from the prison in Leogane.

This is easier said than done as he’s under strong guard there, however on top of your usual reward, Tangela explains that she can provide you with some good quality Cane Hooks, which correctly adapted can be used on your ship to help with grappling.

Once you’ve sprung Gyasi Sel, you’ll need to meet him back at his Shack in Jaqueme to get your reward.

Once you’ve got Gyasi all settled in, he’ll have a task of his own for you to do. He wants you to find Yejide Perron, who’s apparently on Shackle-Shell Beach, enjoying the hospitality of some pirates.

You’ll find getting to Yejide to be a piece of work; the beach is nothing short of a major shore-up location for the pirates, some of them the strangest looking you’ll see in a while.

When you get up to Yejide, she first thinks you’re there to simply kill the pirates, however her tone quickly changes when you mention Gyasi Sel wants to meet with her. She agrees to return with you, so make your way back to Gyasi Sel’s Shack.

Well, you’re starting to make quite the name for yourself aren’t you? If you go and speak with Gyasi again, he’ll inform you of a man who was a close friend to him before he was taken to Leogane. However, he’s heard that more recently, he’s lost his way and started his own cult, leading the innocent of Jaqueme down the wrong path. So he dispatches you to disperse his gathering and bring him back to Gyasi.

What you’ll need to do now is to sail round to Leogane again, for that is where you’ll find Leabua Fayol and his “friends”

You’ll have to defeat them in combat, which is no easy task, as when you find their little meeting, there will be 2 cultists, Leabua’s personal Enforcer and the man himself! Hopefully though, you’ll survive this encounter in one piece, as it would be such a shame for your journey to end just as it’s getting more interesting, don’t you think?

Provided you’ve alive and well, you’ll need to sail back to Jaqueme to inform Gyasi of your success.

This particular task is one you’ll find off your old friend Tangela Demont, who’s now found out that the French landowners have been busy trying to buy up every piece of land possible on Jaqueme, with the intention of making the land into employee property only and evicting those who don’t want to work, thus forcing the poor townsfolk back into working for them.

He plan is both a smart and risky one, which involves stealing the Documents of Sale for the land and altering them to say that the land is owned by the people and not the French landowners. For this, you’ll need to raid the Town Hall, a frightening idea as you know first hand how well the place is guarded. I won’t kid you here, the guards perhaps aren’t the best trained but they are plenty in number and will come at you all at once when they see you brandishing a weapon.

So, fight your way through the guards and search the place for the documents. When you try to escape, you’ll find more guards have turned up to block your way, however if you got through the guards in there earlier, then these won’t be a problem to you!

Return to Tangela with the documents and you’ll receive your rewards.

Default The Martyrs

With Gyasi now settled after being in prison, Tangela Demont informs you that the people of Jaqueme are starting to see that there’s hope for the town. Unfortunately for you, Pili Jambon sees this too and is trying to take advantage. He’s trying to convince people that the Corsairs of the Main that you killed were infact fallen liberators of the people. To honour them, Pili has created a group called Les Nouveaux Corsaires and Tangela has tricked Pili into thinking that you’re going to lead them into battle against French shipping boats. However, Tangela has formed another plan, as she’s heard that a Corsair of the Main group is sailing in the waters around Jaqueme. So to sink them would show that they aren’t infact friendly to the Jaqueme cause.

Tangela’s task is for you to lead a force of Les Nouveaux Corsaires against the Corsairs of the Main in a battle at Sea. This is a rare chance to sail your ship into battle for the townsfolk of Jaqueme, so nothing but a resounding victory will do. Your force is a reasonable one, yet you’ll be the main force in the engagement, so show them how a seasoned ship captain commands their ship. You’ll be slightly up against it, as the Corsairs of the Main sneak up on you while you’re preparing at Ile a Vache, putting the weather gauge against you, so you’ll need to use all your skill to lead your forces to victory!

Provided you’re not now sailing in a raft, return to Tangela and inform her of your victory.
