i love how he assumes as he cant find a society and ships, or keeps losing all his ships that 99% of the games population is the same. Sorry TheWhine but 99% of the population have no problems with societys or ships or avoiding PvP of they suck.
Note To TheDread - Losing ships to NPCs is why you are struggling, avoid those monstrous targets such as MC Locusts, Bermuda Sloops and the fearful Heavy Cerberus in combat and you shall soon reap the rewards of having a ship. The red parts of the map are dangerous, they will corrupt the mind of all that enter, the NPCs in these waters are especially dangerous. DO NOT ENTER.

pirates wil never understand the work involved in building an economy to support every ship we use, especially in some of our low pop servers. where when if u want a pvp ship and u cant build one u can just take one and losing it is not a loss of hours of work and input. if a nat fights hard to take down another player he gets nothing for it and the loser has lost hours of labour, if a pirate wins he gains a ship and worth hours of work for no cost can be as reckless as he wishes. so i agree a skill to help prevent this would be great.

Creating a skill to prevent this is pretty much the same as removing the capture skill to pirates, so no. Unless its a big sacrifice in a skill tree or something, else everybody would just use it always.
Maybe i dont realize the work involved behind building a ship, but i dont know if you realize how much nats are better at eco than rats. You get advanced buildings, good skills as FT, good hauling ships. Most pirates doesnt give a damn about eco, makes the goods rare and pricy. Besides without the capture skill, pirates would just be a 4rth nation to me ... and i wouldnt play them ... would play a NO instead to get lineships. |

wow, i hope this guy still does not play >.< sounds like the guy that lost his couronne to two hermes sleeks and a sloop, then cry'ed nerf small ships to hell and back...
theres no need to change anything about the capture ship skill, its simple... there a red zone... if you don't wish to risk your ship, don't go in to the red zone... but i guess thats too hard to understand. Plus, ships are far too easy to get a hold of these days >.> i could lose 9 HH Dura's a day and still be gaining cash |

There is a skill that can destroy your ship, last resort manoeuvre or whatever it's called, ticks your structure down so that, eventually, even an anti crew or anti sail shot will destroy you. Hit that, go for the exit, try to repel boarders while laying down roundshot on anybody who gives you a clean shot, use rum instead of repairs, if you're lucky you'll last long enough to sink, or even kill something.
