Thanks for writing this guide.
The guide says: "You will be charged to build a warehouse, the amount to build a warehouse will increase exponentially with each consecutive placement." I have a specific question which was not explained by the sentence I copied above. If you have two warehouses and plan to build a third in game it says it will cost my pirate character 16,200 doubloons. What if I have a warehouse in port "A" and port "B", demolish a warehouse in port "A" then go to build in a port "Z"? Will it cost still cost 16,200DB and I only have two warehouses; or will it cost the same as when I built my second warehouse originally (I think that was a couple of thousand doubloons)? Obviously, if it cost 16,200 regardless of whether I have my second warehouse or demolish it, there is no reason to demolish the warehouse. Knowledgeable useful responses to this issue are appreciated and have my thanks in advance. |

The key word is consecutive. So, 'Z' should cost the same as the second warehouse you previously built (even though it or the one prior to it's been demolished), since you only have one standing warehouse at the time you build 'Z'.

Consecutive means: "following one another in uninterrupted succession or order; successive".
Consecutive was a poor choice of a word. In this context of the game no one would choose to build consecutive warehouses, because that would mean you built no other structures while building warehouses consecutively. If you build a warehouse, then a structure such as a gravel pit, then a warehouse; that is not building warehouses consecutively. That being said, I understand your explanation about cost for a warehouse built at port "Z" in my example. I have demolished one warehouse (along with three structures to do so), and built a warehouse which amounts to a second warehouse (because I now have only two) at a cost of 3200 doubloons. Thanks for the helpful reply. |

Allright now i have read all this, my brain popped out and yelled
"Thats enough allready" and ran away, took the fastest bus far far away. That literrally made my eyes and brain hurt big time but i hope i get it now. Since im going for manufacturing ships. So now i get the picture, jeebus this is hard to understand the crafting part. I hope i wont be doing a "Delete" character when i get something messed up, but the guide helped big time on this.

I still don't get how to actually make anything!
Could someone post a click by click guide to get me started on producing Iron then eventually cannons and guns? The tutorial just left me lost ![]() The recipies dont make any sense, i cant build a warehouse in port of spain i cant get my mine to do do anything but be a deed. The tutorial had me making gravel but I dont want to make gravel i want to mine and make cannons so i deleted the rock factory. Im trying to set up SOMETHING to make me some cash but Im getting so very frustrated. Ive looked at botbswiki ive tried to figure it out using merchantsoftheburningsea.com site. All of those are great reasourses but they all assume that I already know how to make something and NOTHING explains EXACTLY how to make even the basic thing. (except gravel) and i have no desire to mess with gravel I want to produce iron and wood for my society's shipwrites. Can someone please PM me? thanks!

Recipes either come with a structure or are in recipe books. One or two are given as mission rewards, but they are rarely worth worrying about.
Recipe books come in three ways: 1. As loot drops (all except the FT only ones) 2. A few can be obtained in exchange for pennants/commendations/pennons or Marks of Victory/Trade in your nation capital. 3. The three Freetrader only recipe books are only available from the Freetrader Recipe Trainer in your nation capital. All except the FT ones can be bought and sold at the auction house. The best assistance on recipes is the F1 in-game help. If you look at a Structure, it will tell you what recipes come with the structure and what recipes use that structure. If you click on a recipe it will tell you from what book it comes. |

From the OP above:
Quote:
Recipe books you can buy in AH's (check at the more populated AH's for a better selection) or you can get them from random drops. Danicia isn't kidding when they say "some can be rare". A couple from turn-ins or as an FT NPC. EDIT: xposted

Thanks for the answers, now I have another question - from what you've all said, and I haven't seen it elsewhere, all classes can craft, not only a free trader?

If you are crafting more casually, I suggest you play something more combat fun and you can craft nearly as well without giving as much up. Oh, unless you are pirate and that has it's own set of gives/takes/takes/challenges/takes..
