Roleplaying in Pirates of the Burning Sea!

One of the things I enjoy in Pirates is the chance to roleplay with the players. I've been an RPer for many years, starting with Ye Olde AD&D 1st Edition. Yeah, I'm one of those gamers.

There has always been good Roleplay in Pirates, including many RP events hosted by some hard working players. We'd like to do more to help support these events and get the word out so you can find them, too!

To start, there is the General Roleplay subforum called The Salt Sea Dog Inn. You'll find great in-character stories, listings of events and general questions about how to roleplay your character.

An example of a great story is Steward Serenitatis' The Norfolk Dispatches.

2nd Annual RPers Ball - Friday, April 17th 5PM PST/8PM EST/2400 GMT/1000 AUS ST (Sat April 18th) on Antigua. They are bringing in DJ BEO (formerly of Booty Island Radio) to spin period-appropriate music and they've set up a Ventrilo server!

Looking for a more casual event? Check out Antigua Thursday, April 16th for Rhum & Wench Night. Show up at the Empty Gibet in Tortuga Thursday night, 8pm MST (7PM PST, 10 EST, 0200 GMT and 1200 AUS ST).

Come on out for the good times; you might even rub shoulders with surprise guests!

*laughs* Oi, I believe you're the first person to mention that... And no, we've made no adjustments for daylight time. Whatever 8pm is in Eastern time these days, that's when it starts, so plan accordingly.

Excellent Ideas and awesome events!

I think the ultimate would be an RP Server with rules for character names and such. But I know doing that is probably not possible at this time.

I thought I should update this thread to say that last night's Rum and Wenches was fully awesome.

There was much rum, not enough wenches. But there was a bar fight! (My character lost to some Spanish chick. Sadface.)

It was a great opportunity for many of us to get together again, and an excellent prelude to the ball. I'll see you all tonight.

I need to create a character for rp on Antigua, doesn't seem to be much rp on Blackbeard. Maybe I'll make it tonight, I'll be the level one wallflower.
