I agree there definetly needs to be something done. Working my *** off trying to make goods and sell them even in ports that have nothing in the auction house is getting a little tirseome. I'm at lv. 17 and I've had one PvP trade, and 0 items sold out of the 40 or so up for auction. And trust me I'm the only one selling Fine Wine & Fine Cheese in Britians regional market (and I'm a Frenchman).
I like the merger idea but I can see how that would be hell of an undertaking. Merging two world economies isn't like cuttin & pasting. Every body has investments decisions that were made based on the current situations. Thats gonna screw up alot of people plans.
Example "boy there sure wasnt 25 boats here for sale yesterday...and look their way cheaper then the ones I'm selling" To bad the bulldozer hasnt been invented yet.
