I would recommend in the foyer, or somewhere near the door, so you will remember to take your pirate on your way out, though it can really anywhere with a smooth and easily cleaned tile, lineoleum, or hardwood floor which will allow your pirate to drip dry after inclement weather.

You will also probably want this to be a well-ventilated area, as very few dry cleaners accept pirates these days...
