Ship Fighting?

Hello, I am currently downloading the trial and I have a question about ship combat. What is it like? Do you have a crew? Can other players be in your crew? Do players control your cannons? Do you have skills to use in combat? Most of these will be answered when I finish downloading the trial but I would like to know beforehand if I could. Thanks.

Q. Do you have a crew?
A. Yes

Q. Can other players be in your crew?
A. No. Players are always captains of their ships.

Q. Do players control your cannons?
A. You may order your crew to fire all guns, or you can fire a specific battery. You cannot control individual cannons. After all most ships have dozens of guns.

Q. Do you have skills to use in combat?
A. Yes. You can use skills to temporarily improve your ship's ability to fight.

Some extra info:

Other players cant be in your crew: but when you are ashore, you can team up with other players and get some hand-2-hand combat.

About skills:
there are different types of skills, some increase your sailing or turning abilitys, others improve the damage or crew strenght. Theres enough of them to make nice combo's.
