Unhappy Long load time to the open sea

I am having terrible load times to the open sea. Seems fine going into anywhere else but when I enter open sea it takes me much much longer than the others I am playing with. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Not the only one - this just started for me this morning - and for the first time now after finally just killing the task at the loading screen for the OS I get the blank server list - takes about 4 mins to get a list to come up

And no it's not my machine folks again it's not the willy nilly Nvidia people updating my drivers secretly in the night to break FLS's patch and so on - anything else fires up fine including other SOE games - my IC is fine and so on

Unfortunately the game is slowly going downhill bugs and stability wise instead of the other direction- at some point problems will > enjoyment and make it not worth bothering with

First the flickering , then performance drop , now slower loading times ,

The game started off stable for me and has progressively gotten worse , not better and that's not a good sign to me

Yeah, I actually posted last night about having up to 10 minute loading screen times that would just randomly occur, and only when going into the OS. Rusty told me it may have something to do with your hard drive. I had been using an external hard drive, so I moved POTBS to my internal hard drive and that cut down my load times by half, but I am still getting up to 5 minutes to load. I submitted a ticket the other day with the log from when I was playing and getting the really long loading times, hopefully they can figure out what is wrong

I just had this too and its not my card or machine.. I think it was something with the server or possibly my connection.

ah so its not just my computer then.

I think OS load times has two issues still, though:

1) They must've done something on the server side with the network settings to cause these UDP issues.

2) There should be an option to voluntarily reduce OS Spotting or reduce # ships displayed to help slower graphics cards. Heck, even a moving 2D object substitution for the polygon models option would make me happy. It was exceedingly horrible yesterday on Antigua around Irish Point (pvp area). I got out to OS, but there was severe lag and by the time I can move again, I was boarded with the other guy standing next to me. 2nd attempt 2 hrs later, I was again engaged though by NPC but 2 capricieux frigates within 200 yards of me. The lag, whatever source of it, is rather ridiculous!
