Hi All
Ive been working on a PB manual for some time. It is written as a guide to the "participating captains", not as a guide to PB leaders. It is a good tool for getting PBs to work for emerging nations, setting some kind of common framework in terms of methodology and ship/organizational standardization. Ive included alot of gfx - to make it more appealing to players to read, as opposed to just a wall of text. Im not satisfied however - and would like some feedback on whats missing or poorly written. My email is in the top of the document (contact the author). While I was originally thinking of the manual as a tool to support only my own PB fleet and integrating new players (of my own rvr-side) into the world of PB's, I have come to relaize that that is an egocentric approch. If the manual can make even 1 new player on any side develope a keen interest in POTBS - it is worth making the treatise available to all. Hope you find it interesting - and that I get alot of feed-back :-) Manual: http://www.rockpiraten.dk/potbs_end/...pb_manual.html /Ubert

Nice work Ubert. Would be perfect work if you would include the pb-maps with default wind.

OMG, Ubert is sharing military secrets with the enemy
![]() Seriously, though, it's a really good writeup - /tiphat. A very minor addition to the translations - "left" is "links" in german and "à gauche" in french. "Right" is "rechts" in german and "à droite" in french.

Enemies in-game perhaps. But friends and fellow POTBS-players otherwise.
In this game I wish everyone three good "enemies" for every ally they have - as that will create the perfect enviroment for epic battles and with it, great fun. No-one (in their right mind) wish to be ruler of the empty seas :-) This is primarily a new player guide, and as such, could be useful in engaging new POTBS players, and make them stick to the game. Being yelled at for bringing a Stral to a PB, having no clue of the mechanics etc can possibly put new players off. It also shows a glimpse of the deep organization and coorperation, which goes on in the nation - and which is one of the things that make POTBS great. The manual is no substitute for experience at all, and really, should be made available to all who have an interest in the subject, regardless of nation. That way it can also evolve, and end up as a complete guide, and not just the current rather narrowly focussed treatise. Tnx for the last few translations :-)
