Default Some useful links for new players

Recently I had twice to send these links to new (or resubbed) players, and I though a good idea to share for the future tons of new players that for sure will come with PnP....

- PotBS Ship companion - check shipyard to see all the ships, compare them, and even to see some hidden stats like the polars
http://www.potbs-companion.net/main/index.php

- PotBS Wiki (a bit outdated, but nevetheless)
http://potbs.wikia.com/index.php?title=Main_Page

- A good manual about Port Battles - written by a Frog, but nevertheless very instructive
http://www.rockpiraten.dk/potbs_end/...pb_manual.html

- ArmEagle - to see what time are the PB. You can set it to your timezone
http://potbs.armeagle.nl/map-roberts.php

- A good primer on building your own sails and flags
http://www.burningsea.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2564

- A must for PVP - Reducing the Barriers to pvp: The War Manual of Dolf Zinidean.
http://www.burningsea.com/forums/sho...21&postcount=1

- Production Planner excel - from Remus
http://www.burningsea.com/forums/sho...40&postcount=1

- Avcom Guide from Rachel Hawke. Not the best, and probably will be outdated in PnP, but gives you a good idea:

- Links about Port Battle Maps and the contention bonuses

Brits on Tiggy may find these iCal feeds useful. They take the data feed from ArmEagles site to show PB times in google calendar or equivilent.

The ArmEagle site at http://potbs.armeagle.nl/map-antigua.php (or map-roberts.php)

has a lot more info than just port battle times. It shows the current state of the map for people able to monitor it while not playing. It tracks the unrest at each port graphically for the most recent week, month, or year. It shows histories of map wins and the point amounts during the maps. There is a LOT of stuff there, including actual current server populations, AND port battle participation and results for all maps going back to January 2008.

It is far more sophisticated and reliable than the in-game map, and the historical data is available nowhere else that I could find.
