Jawbone Bay
24 French - 2 CMC, Wenden, 2 Valiants, Macedons, HMCs, HH, Possis, Achilles 23 British - Wendens, Macedons, HMC, Mercys, errr other ships 1st thing, hard to write a report after such a Port Battle, that was epic, fantastic fight Brits. British took the Northern entrance, while the French entered through the North-Eastern door. Once contact was established, the British sailed West to try to draw the French through the gap between the islands. The French Skirmishers requested permission to follow, which was granted, while the rest of the French fleet sailed close haul across the top of the islands to stop the British getting the wind. The British turned around and went for the French Skirmishers, while the French fleet sailed down the exterior coast of the western isles and then back through the gap. The French Skirmishers, though battered, escaped though the upper isles and the British turned back and headed for the main French fleet. The main fleet of the French was sailing close haul to keep the wind which forced the British to sail beneath them and the French were able to get to the rear of the British fleet. During this initial engagement casualties were suffered, both sides losing ships, but the British, though not losing more ships, had more ships pull out due to damage. The French turned to follow the British and at British regained the wind, but not for long as the French sailed east, under the British and then in a daring manoeuvre, turned through the wind and sunk yet more. At the rear of the French Line, the governor of Cayo, Konstantin Paneff, cut off, managed to lure 4-5 British to go after him, giving the French more time to regroup. At this point both side suffered simultaneous lag and DCs, about 4-5 players on each side. There was a slight lull in the battle, well apart from Konstantin going down and both sides lost one each to the dreaded disconnect. The French making sure the British DC was not fired on. The British sailed back through the gap in the western isles, with the French on their tails trying to slow them down. I think at this point it was about 6 down on each side. The British turned back and sailed to the top of the gap, while the French sailed below them focusing as best they could on those British that were the most exposed. The British turned down onto the French, but the French were ready and started to sailed back and forth across the bows of the British and it was here that the British began to suffer the most losses as they had began to run out of repairs and their NOs out of Final D and Invincible. Lile Ditling (Reit) was doing a fabulous job of blocking and protecting, but eventually his luck ran out and he went as did Gösta in his CMC, but more British had gone down and it was now 14 French to 9 British. The British decided to retreat to the Fortress and the French did their best to slow them down, but the British managed to make it to the fortress with all their troops. The decision was taken to destroy the Town Defence Gun and then the French gathered all their forces to enter the Fortress. Jumping in to the Fortress the French quickly worked their way through the NPCs towards the commander, but the British decided to jump out and make a run for the edges of the map to force a victory on time (fair tactic). The French piled out of the Fortress and saw that 2 of the British had DCed, but one was getting back into the battle. The Wenden that had DCed was left alone, while the Reason, commanded by the British PB leader, was started to be dismasted. On the French side the decision was taken for 6 to stay behind, cover the Wenden and Reason, while the other 8 would runs after the 7 other British. The Wenden returned, offered a surrender, which was accepted and at this point the British PB commander asked for a general surrender offering to go down on his ship. His offer was refused and all surrenders were accepted, despite being helpless the British commander was shown the respect he had earned during the PB and was allowed to retreat with honour. Losses: French: 10 - 2 DC, 1 HMC, 1 CMC, Possis, Maces, HH and others. British: 14 - 3 DC, 3 HMCs, Maces, HH, MBs etc. This was one of the most epic PBs I have been to in a long while, even though we got the upper hand it was touch and go through out. There was some much manoeuvring going on during the whole PB it was hard to keep up. Luckily the communication was fabulous and we always know what was going on (Thanks Brigante). Even though there were DCs and lagging, even I DCed out, on either side it did not ruin it for me. Great PB, thanks for the fun. |

Werner rocks is liberated despite some very hard resistance from the british occupants. Order has been restored after a long battle. Some unlawful brits even tried to shoot at the governor-ship during the battle but now its safely fully repaired.
ofc the pesants need to be punished for helping the british... also taxes will be raised to higher levels than ever as a warning to the british not to try taking it back. |

Was a nice PB, the first i lead as brit. We have had some problem with the vent but finnaly it work.
Many dc on both part make us sad but the battle has not been change due of dc. Good manoeuvring, focus and courage allow us to sunk many ships on both part. French get the hand despite we focus on charging them hard on the east of the map. Brits need a german translator and we will begin better. We have had 2 third rate into the battle against wenden and french CMC but we fight with courage Tiphat all for the fight and the fairplay in

Mensch, dies ganze Englisch nervt mich tierisch ;-)
Have only 3 things to say: 1. I wish I would NOT have been in this PB 2. I wish I had a Wenden that turns like a HMC 3. I wish to win a PB Thats all.

Was definately one of the best PB's on Robert's for a long time. I'm very proud of my French comrades. This only shows that an increased amount of alcohole, and a much stricter Stalinist doctrine, will always prevail. I /tiphat the Brits. Soon your evil capitalism will be crushed under the boot of the Frenchs peoples-monarchy, and his majesty's most prestigious peoples navy.
![]() /salute EDIT: I almost forgot. Suisse was awarded the highest order of the peoples-monarchy of Nouvelle-France for this port battle. An official "Good Tactic !!!" from his excellency the governor of Cayo de Marquis, Konstantin Paneff. |
