If you have cargo waiting no matter where you land, spending time at sea just wastes valuable trip time. If you dont have cargo waiting or the difference in time is minimal then maybe it doesnt matter as much as the cost used to make up the time difference.

couple examples 2 boats have ready cargos that make 10 mill per delivery. Boat 1 makes the trip every 30 days. Boat 2 makes the trip every 60 days. One boat has a 120mill profit the other a 60 mill profit.

Example two Same two boats same cargos but the one that makes the trip in 30 days burns so much additional fuel that the profitability on their trips is 4 million. One boat has a profit of 48 million and the other has a profit of 60 million.

The time makes a huge difference in the equation either way. For example if you then have to forgo a trip due to maintenance speed of delivery matters even more. Overall you can see how complicated a situation it can be and not solely related to just speed or savings in fuel cost.

I have no idea what I'm talking about? you're the guy saying there is less risk in a boat that has about 50 times the risk of a normal boat. Boats with sails are known to fail catastrophically because they capsise a **** load more often than engine powered boats.

As for the debate part, you need to research what a debate is, google it.
