I have some suggestions for improving the PB invitation system for both hardcore PvP'ers and casual gamers.
1) First 12 invitations are handed out to the top 12 players when counting conquest points for that port flip. If any of them decline or does not answer invitation the invitation goes to no. 13 and so on.... 2) Next 12 spots as normal except that if PB is not filled, random invitations are sent until sides are equal, preferrably to level 50 players. Admit, it is better to have an extra cap MC or even a fail-fallen insted of nothing in the extra spots. 3) Time from port flips to PB is increased to 72 hours, as a counter to the increased time maybe a 4th simoultaneous port flip could be allowed. 4) Send out invitations 10 earlier than today, make the Harbor Master available in PB room with access to capital warehouse to allow for some extra fittings to be equipped. 5) Different PB slots for weekdays and holidays My agruments for this: 1) Will benefit both hardcore and casuals. Casuals use all the time they want to grind contention / unrest and at some point become pretty sure they get invited, no more "meh, I'm probably not going to be invited anyway so why bother". Hardcores that do nothing but portflips will be invited more often, what's the joy in grinding 3 ports without being invited to a single PB? Port Battles will become a more even mix of veterans and newcomers. 2) Because equal numbers are always the best. Defeat becomes more acceptable and victory tastes better. Besides, the randomness in not every slot filled is still there, the factor is just smaller. 3) For people playing only a couple of times a week. Let them join the fun as well. This makes it easier to plan ahead for a Port Battle and one will more likely put more effort into being invited if one is certain to be logged on at PB time. 4) In real life naval battles, did captains just show up with random ships and scetch a quick tactic based on the attendees ? No, they planned a head. Fleets where composed with a mission. during the 10 minute countdown you cannot engage in PvP, you can find out what vessel to bring in advance and nations may compose their fleet in a much more interresting way. As a bonus for the eco players out there one might see a lot of "last-minute" buys at ridiculous prices as well ![]() 5) Because what gamer goes to bed at midnight on a friday, saturday or before a holiday ?

Just put a Harbor Master/Trainer in the ready room and send out the invite 10 minutes earlier.

True. My original suggestion could lead to some "buy ship X or get out" situations so it would be better to just have the port master available and perhaps the capital warehouse so you could store some extra fittings.

I not understood why before propose some things new , maybee well or not, people not do whot they can do.
Is not hard before the battle for the people who will go in PB, and have all time for this becouse all know the h of the pb, say 1) If have points and how many 2) Whot ship can bring If will be lead the pb and all things you can think for organise the PB. Is possible organise ALL the pb before to invite are sent, and if have 24 strongs sheps ask to the other to decline ... Why not do this ? |
