Most of today's next gen MMO's as well as non-online games are $49.99+. One month free comes with buying the client. As I said before it is a pro-active credit given to all people who purchase a new MMO because most launches do not run as smoothly as they should. It is a practice that has been adopted due to so many complaints during a game's launch. Anyone with a background in marketing will tell you that.

A company is not entitled to give you anything for free. Be happy they do give you 30 free days with purchase of thier product. If after 30 days they dont get all the kinks out, then you would have more than enough reason to complain.

This is the first MMO where even unscheduled maint has always taken less than announced time.

IMO that's awesome.

They can take it down as much as needed as long as they are fixing things and making a better game.

yeah, i mean its downtime & bug fixes or endless up time loaded with bugs. Is this even really a choice?

Exactly! Your choice, coming here whining because the servers go down for an hour or 2 a day or coming here whining because the game bugged out and ate all your ships, money, cargo, and soul. I'm just saying it really isn't that hard to understand. Apparantly you weren't there for either WoW or EQ2's releases. This game launched much smoother than either of them from what I've personally seen.

Hmmm.... I'm just a bit confused because the weekend is prime gaming time so why would anybody in their right mind perform a server maintenance during that time?

During weeknights (say 01.30 - 03.30 between Tuesday and Wednesday) nearly nobody would feel disturbed compared to smack in the middle of the weekend!

If you paid for the client you have paid for the 1st month. lol @ people who think otherwise.

Additionally, you think people would be willing to pay for client AND pay for 1st month too?? .. mmmmm No.
