From Hesh's reply on the unofficial feedback thread, it looks like these are what will be going into Live. All values relate to Huge except where stated:
Gun mods Elevated Cannon Mounts: Accuracy +3, Crew Res +5% Accuracy is 1 less than Huge Accuracy Rig 3 so this is really a crew resistance mod with an accuracy bonus. Neptune's Fury: Accuracy +4, Sail Defense -3, Long Range Damage +4%, Maximum Cannon Range +4%, Armor DR -1. What a fantastic cannon mod! Accuracy as good as the best useful accuracy gun mod and all the max range and long range damage as well! For anyone fighting at over about 250 yards the benfits outweigh the loss of DR and for port battles I would think this easily becomes the gun outfitting of choice. Hull mods Neptunus Equestris: Max speed -5%, Armour Res +5%, Armour DR +1, Grappling Defense -5. Nice to have a permanent DR mod, and with the Resistance as well this is a slight improvement over Heavy Flanked when fighting at range even without resistance stacking. However the max speed is quite a penalty. I can imagine some players seeing this as the hull outfitting of choice and, as with Neptune's Fury, it seems to me to be particularly suitable for port battles. In the smaller sizes there is a further surprise. DR increases for all ship sizes below Huge so fitting two of these to a small ship gives a very nice 7.4 DR! Easily worth sacrificing the speed for, eh? Oil-coated Planking: Max speed 6%, Armour Res -5%, Grappling Defense 6. Not quite as fast as Race-Builts, and there is very little to choose between the penalties. I imagine that the grapping defense will make current Race-Built users looking to use Oil-coated instead, but who still uses Race-Builts? Sail mods Fortified Linen Sailcloth: Acceleration +5%, Mast Integrity +10% A useless mod. Huge Tough Sails 3 gives 21% mast integrity and acceleration is of very little value indeed. You would be better fitting a Tough Sails 3 and a Runner's. If you really want acceleration then fit a Tough 5 and a Halyards 3. Neptune's Will: Acceleration -10%, Turn Rate -10%, Target Tracking 2, Damage +5%, Reload +5% A gun mod in a sail slot - the antithesis of Lightweight Guns. But what a gun mod! Damage +5% is the same as Huge Wadding 3. Then you get the reload and target tracking to boot. Furthermore, target tracking stacks without penalty with accuracy and in most sitations, particularly in huge ships, target tracking does not fully cover movement penalties. If positive acceleration mods are not worth fitting, then we should not be too worried about negative acceleration mods. Even so -10% is not to be taken lightly, and the -10% turn rate is even more of a penalty. If you are not looking for speed or manuoevrability then this is a very interesting mod indeed. Generals Fishnet Grapple Hooks Crew Resistance -8%, Max Crew +40, Grappling Offence +8, Boarding Party Level +1 A reasonable enough mod, particularly as many players like The Veve of Marinette and this mod is far superior, even with the negative crew resistance. Personally I would prefer Discordant Grapples 3. You cannot fit both. Guns of Revelation Short Range Damage +8%, Max Crew -40, Grappling Offence +8 Not nearly as good as the House of Trade mod, Artisan's Muskets. A few other mission rewards give better grappling offence without being grappling mods, but I dare say a few people will find this a useful outfitting. Consumables Ashes of Ares Max range +4%, Target Tracking +1 I was surprised the target tracking was added back to the powder as the range buff itself is worth its use. I cannot really comment on the repairs. An interesting set of mods. Let us hope that they are not wrecked by the fishing mechanic itself.

I am kinda worried about it going Live with the Oiled-Ragboarding Planking and the Neptune's Fury being -ve sail defense; you are right that its a no-brainer for PBs unless there is a real Defense (All) negative.
I am also going to have fun making a 14DR Lancer with +18 Offense and 700y range ![]() |

Remus, I can say about the repairs that the first rate sail + guns needs to be comparable to 550 sails that three sheets gives. It's pretty weak for the price, atm.

Adding -5% armor resist to Oiled Planking makes it pointless for any normal player and rageboarders really dont care about -ve resist when they rely on the fight being under 2mins long. Seriously, just make it 6% speed, -10 grapple offense. Less good than Runners, less negatives than runners, better than Streamlined but with a harsh negative, and not catering to people exploiting cheap tactics.

What do players who use hull speed mods do with their sail slots? What is their play style? Stealth fitted rageboarders do indeed come to mind but if you give oil-coateds -ve grappling offence then they will just use race-builts, as they do now. I would rather all outfittings are useful to someone, but who would want yours?
