I'm not sure, but i think you might want to add more flaking, i know it starts to seem ridiculous, but you really do need to overdo it.

Getting there.... The flaking is close to horizontal but not quite. It needs to be straight horizontal, no angle at all.

in my opinion are there no more gradients, so no more problem:

I think I like the painted look better than this one. To me, it is obvious that you have jsut painted the areas that had gradiants. I think you are really close with the painted look.

I like it, it will still be borderline due to of the degree of detail but it has a definite chance to pass now.
