I'm enjoying all the round-table discussions recently, but personally I believe that FLS should just continue with small-team minor balancing patches with this game while a larger team develops Potbs 2 using the round table inputs & their experiences with this game.

A couple of things they need for this:

Input from an economist/economy team - doesn't have to be an expensive expert, sponsor/scholarship some senior economy grads. RVR design & Governorship must initially be built hand in hand at the get-go with this I believe.

A far better avcom system - with crew taken into acount, no ping issue, better crew control (ever tried to tell your crew to hold position at start fo boarding? LMAO!) With ALL styles viable.This may need headhunting another or previous games avcom designer. e.g: Early WoW was actually pretty decent until it all became gear over skill.

Ship Collision Mechanics.

New game = New chance to start again with xteaming.

Once built start this as a sub only game - keep old f2p-potbs for a time. People will run to the pretties & pay if its good. Close f2p when the pop gets below a minimum state. Then work to introdue f2p to mark 2 if you want it.

I have more views & ideas but would like to know other players & FLS views 1st.

Pretty sure there is no money for a large dev team to develop a new game and investors will be hard to find given how this game here tanked despite all the favorable reviews.

honestly, I don't think this would go over well for now, they are doing well with what they have, and working out all the kinks. Honestly what I wish they'd do is work on what they planed on, which was an expansion called Pirates of the Asian Sea. It was supposed to be released for the asian community, and eventually merge with PotBS to where we could travel from the Caribbean to Asia.
