Hello,
The Privateer is currently still the weakest class in game. Especially in 1on1 situations, the privateer lacks. I have recently seen some videos of the priv, after the privateer luv patch came out. You saw a lot more privs back then and the priv was absolutely able to compete with other classes. The biggest reason for that was the adjusted Evasion skill, which helped the priv a lot to compensate his major issues. The priv has never been overpowered. So in favor of 1on1 balancing, without imbalancing the 6v6 part, I want to suggest the following: Current Evasion: +20 Defense +15% Resistance Duration: 20 seconds Cooldown: 3 minutes Morale cost: 15 ----------- New Evasion: +15 Defense +15% Resistance +10% Acceleration Duration: 15 seconds Cooldown: 100 seconds Morale cost: 15 |

Can you tell me why and what do you think makes him op in this case?
The priv had 20 defense 15% res. For 20 sec. With 90 sec cooldown. Nobody considered the priv being op at that time . |

I dont know what players you go against, but either the cut, bucc,ft are much stronger in 1on1 situations, equal ships given.
But ok, if everyone thinks the priv can keep up with these classes in 1on1s, then forget my idea .Must be an illusion then, that I havent lost to a Priv om both servers for months oO. |

I'm not really seeing the point in balancing 1vs1 on classes.
The ship and fittings you have matter a lot more in 1vs1 |

Yes they did; that's why Evasion was changed. 100s cooldown means you are firing on a defensively spiked target every third broadside. If you hold shot for Evasion to wear off you are losing 15% of your DPS because it is up 15% of the time during which you are not reloading. I wouldn't object to it being a spammable skill, but only if the duration was 10s and it lost 5 Defense, and used 20 morale. Then it could be 90s reset without causing sustained issues and giving the Priv situational surviviability.

I think it's fairly absurd for the entire game that defensive spikes are better than sustained defensive buffs.
There's just too much variance between how resilient ships are with defensive spikes up vs without, or with jug vs without for that matter. A tanked ship should always be defensive, it shouldn't be paper just because it's hit with a full jug and a fragile scout should always be fragile, not more tanky than a heavy ship of the line just because it has evasion up. |

that being said. FLS buffed privateer ships, not the class. so you want the extra defense, you need to get into your class ships. |

I think you can easily balance out the priv for 1on1s. Of course the priv isnt total crap in 1on1s, but he has too many weaknesses and is very complicated to play, due to morale juggling. A serious issue is, that stone shot kills crew way to easy. I think less crew damage but more sail dmg would be better. Even if you have the full crew line, a bucc needs only a few volley to decrew you again. I would love to see having something like rum rations as replacement for the bizarre scrapper skill for the priv, but instead of 10% accel, reload, turnrate, +10 morale --- 5% accel,turnrate,reload,+10 morale. |
