Default Ship Line Production

How many slots would one need to make popular ships and mark them way down talking 50% markup at most and sell at volume?

Its a 2 man soc I have about 40 slots available and my friend probably has 80-100 slots.

Is there a good spread sheet that shows production flow? Than can fiddle with the slots make up?

Most likely our bottle neck will be wood and ship provisions... (we will buy the provisions probably that saves a ton of slots)

I guess if there isnt one out there Ill have to make a spread sheet keeping track of what we are making how much ect.. and play around with it until its fine tuned.

If you have not done so already, take a look at A Beginner's Guide to Shipbuilding, in particular the Structure table. This is writen around one small shipyard making popular small and medium ships in 10 lots. Making larger ships is actaully very little different except for the shipyard taking up more lots and you will need relatively more brass fittings and ship provisionings. If you have a master large yard (recommended with the number of lots you have) you will need 2.5 times the quantity of ingredients as are in the guide.

With both you and your friend you should be able to make everything; I would think one or two 6-lot provisioning lines (2 sugar plantation, 2 sugar refinery, 1 general plantation, 1 provisioner and trade for wine via the Dutch) would support the rest of your shipbuilding; you will also need to rotate a fishing lodge and maybe a slaughterhouse, and you will need barrels but these are easy for a shipbuilder to make.
You will need a leather line of some description; the standard line is 6 lots (2 pasture, 1 slaughterhouse, 3 tanners) but you might find 1 hunting lodge and 1 tanner is better suited to your needs.
Most of the rest of the stuff is pretty obvious, I think.

However, I do not envy you; the amount of time you will spend clicking structures and recipes, finding all your stuff on the dozen accounts, and all that bloody hauling ... and you only want 50%? For non-LSB ships that seems to average at about 80 db per lot/hr.

But if it is what you want to do, go for it!

Hello!

I'm currently developing an Econ Manager/Planner, it's quite early in development so it's not ready but i would certainly appreciate your wishes/thoughts on what it could contain and how you'd want to manage things.
If you want you can contact me any way you like, pm, email or the thread linked in my signature.

Regards, LoDx

Well we are lucky a lot of our old accounts have stuff left lol ... it was like christmas totally forgot all the stuff we had.

The reason we want to make ships cheaper and sell at volume is as a Vet I wanna see more people go into pvp with less wallet burden. 2nd vanilla boats are some the funnest pvp ships even if you lose against Bundle Hercs if you can 2-3 outta there 6 man you win the fight economically speaking and get good practice at a cheap rate.

Leather is a bugger of a line I set up 10 hunting sheds and stock piled some game and running 10 tanners atm but man its slow going but cant do much about that.

that would be nice using Remus's spreadsheet is my bread and butter but without doing more maths and making my own spreadsheets it will be interesting trying to fine tune a process.

I read that small shipbuilding thread a long time ago ill have to take a harder look at it.

aye that's why i haven't bothered, i made some barrels for a friend recently so he could make wine and i accidentally made a lot too many, so i thought i would go stick them on the AH at cost price to get rid of them, i soon changed my mind, there were thousands of them on there for 2 to 10 db, how the hell can they sell them that cheap? To start with the Junk Dealer will buy them for 3db each and they actually cost roughtly 28-29 db to make, it's rediculous.

My guess is there were a few there for 2 to 10 db, and this being the lowest price is the one you see. They were probably placed there by people who received them as loot.
The thousands are probably priced far higher.

Of course I could be wrong; I never use the listings price or last sold price by itself whenever I am working out whether an item is worth buying or selling, but always the histories, and (with a pinch of salt) the averages.

This is something that really confuses me and to be quite honest simple annoys the hell out of me, i'll go to the AH to buy something, let's say heavy round shot, i want 100 crates, so i find the cheapest and put in the price x 100, boom it fails because only some are priced that low, it then takes me 10/15 minutes messing around buying up the cheaper ones at a few crates ata time until i hit the next price, rinse repeat until i have enough. It's an annoying and unecesary waste of my time.
