You may be able play for free but, the devs don't work for free. At least you can buy notes in game. Having society members contribute to buy the notes whether on the AH or TI is fair.

I'd like the ability to "package" multiple items to be withdrawn for the warehouse. For instance I create a package called Miguel's PvP pack. In the package I add consumables, outfitting (perms and generals), and ship deed(s). I'd like to have the option of allow member to retrieve the packages in a few ways.

a. Weekly allowance i.e. no more that x number of packages per week.
b. Purchase them from the Society i.e. charge them x,xxx, xxx dbs to withdraw the package. Funds go to the Society Bank.
c. By allowance with a charge of x,xxx, xxx dbs to withdraw the package
d. Withdraw only by the specified society member.
e. By society role.

Been messing around with soc warehouses on testbed.

So, here are my thoughts on a few changes that are needed/would improve them...

1: Allow soc warehouses to be build in regional markets. Many, if not most, socs are based in their nations Capital, so not being able to build the warehouses in Capitals rather reduces their attractiveness.

2: Add another permission level to warehouses, "Leader". This gives access to a section of the warehouse that can only be used by roles with "Leader", allowing soc leadership to store valuables that they may not want all members to be able to access, ie expensive ships, while retaining the ability for members to use the warehouses to trade eco to each other.

3: Add a record of deposits/withdrawals to the soc history. Because if withdrawals are not tracked then things will get stolen.

Agreed, but devs already indicated that they are looking at this.

Agree, but it looks like devs will do this by allowing multiple society warehouses in a port. Per GM Sasquatch below, devs are looking at 2000 BSP as the charge to build each "section". Whether one considers each warehouse a complete "warehouse" or simply a "section" of the society warehouse, I suspect that the programming will be easier and less bug-prone if the devs don't have to tweak the existing code too much. Making a society pay for the flexibility it wants in a port seems OK to me. Not sure whether 2000 BSP is too much, will have to consider all the "sections" a society might want in a port, and in how many ports they'll want their warehouses. Likely that number of "sections" in a society warehouse will vary from port to port, and that few, if ANY, societies will want them in each port. [edited 3/26 to account for 2000BSP price]

Valid point. Even without the looting of warehouses as a reason for tracking, it provides a resource for society leaders to monitor who is taking and who is giving. And it makes for a public record that lets all society members see what is going on, so they can be sure that there is no undue favoritism.

Great to see them in game, although I agree with a lot of the comments about fixing stuff as well. Can't hurt to finish some story lines or arcs. I love the idea, and have been petitioning for them since I started the first time. Great idea and just having them helps the game a lot. Don't mind the whiners, no matter what gets done they wont all be pleased.

They cost 44 doubloons, if purchased through the Port Captain's TA Shop {only on Testbed}.
When the Society Warehouses are available on the Live servers, they will be 2000 Burning Sea Points (1600 for Captain's Club members).

BSN can be bought on the auction house so you don't have to pay real money. Simply earn doubloons in game then buy the BSN from the AH. There has yet to be a single in game item that couldn't be bought either from the AH or via BSN bought on the AH.

So yeah, can still be enjoyed by all wallet sizes.

Captains Club only items means you have to pay real money to access them.

Majestic -- Above statement sure sounds like two different prices, one for CC members and one for others. So, no, you don't have to pay real money for them.

Back in the heyday of PotBS, this price probably wouldn't have been an obstacle to the larger societies building multiple warehouses in at least ten ports. However, with the shrinkage today, I suspect that many societies whose members have fled to other games might have trouble coming up with the BSP for useful warehouse complexes in multiple ports.

Of course, once the society warehouse rules are firmed up, there may be a trickle of players drifting back to sample the new setup, but enough ... ???

I hope that soon after they are introduced, and people have a chance to test them for real, and society leaders are able to see what kinds of multiple sections they need to promote their guilds as well as safeguard their treasures, FLS will hold a brief "sale" on warehouse deeds (y'know, one of those "one-time-only-special-offers") to enable smaller societies to establish at least one port where they have what they need.
