Default Sort out OS tagging

OK, so how does it really work.

I'm in a group, me and a mate. Strength 200. I am close enough to put run um down on the target ship.
My mate tags it. I can't join, locked at 1 v 1.

There were big problems with the old system, but i think the new system is far too limited, and keeps splitting groups.

Fights are easy to avoid if you are in a group, by simply dropping group.

Default Hitting box

Agreed. The new OS tagging system is ridiculous.Too many 6 vs 6 failed because: My group hit enemy or hit by enemy. It' ok.After hit if you stay out you receive a post wanna join or not but the you can't hit yes ( I want join) because isn't working. Then the message disappear your vulnerability is very high. And often you will hit some fail ganker noob rats, who's take advantage of the system weakness!FLS do something. Please!

last night a group of 3 50's and a 30 something was heading for a port. The ganker waited till the 3 50s popped into port and then tagged the 30.

Nobody could get backout fast enough to help.

Ok. The lesson learned:
If you group str is 360 and you pop into port the strength drops making the group more and more vulnerable. Even if they could pop back out fast enough, becuse to many popped, their str rating would have been to high.

Is the system easy to use? No
Is the system realistic? Nope
Does the system overly reward ganking? Clearly it does
Does it properly reward fair play? No
Does the system encourage more people want to PVP? Not IMO
Does the system encourage people to want to risk running the red? No

Do we really need PvP in this game? Yes, dispite its failings it is an important part of the game.

Use the str rating system to balence reward to match up the risk to gain ratio. This could allow the return of the 6 vrs 1 gank, there would just be no reward for it. And possibly even a penalty if the str ratio is to severe like 3 50's vrs 1 level 20 etc. Make this adjustible so FLS could adjust it on the fly. They could adjust it until more balenced PvP takes place. This idea alone would go along way towards molding the PvP to the RvR. A group could support a trade ship through the red.

I know we have the skirmish system but it doesnt seem like to many are wanting to use it for for prearanged PVP. Add a Put up or Shut up window where contestants can bid, then have winner take all.

Anyways I just didnt want to complain without offering some ideas to make PvP more realistic. It is a vital aspect of the game. I for one would choose to play in a sand box rather then the litter box we have now.
