Possible New building ship system?

I know it is just a dream but I would like to show you this possible idea:

You don't buy a ship deed anymore. You buy a Hull which allows you to mount guns, mast, sails for a maximum weight.
You choose what kind of guns to use ( 14lbs or 15 or 18 etc) an the number.
You choose what kind of sails, for running, for manouvering, for close hull wind or with the wind on your back.
You choose what kind of wood to use for the Hull. A better wood will give you a better armor without increasing your ship weight.
You can choose also your crew and manage it.
Finally you can chose the name of your ship (appearing in the 3d model) and finally also the figurhead.

Doing so you can blow up all the outftittings!

Won't happen, because this would involve changing the whole game. Whole crafting system, economics, balancing, classes, everything....

I like the idea, capturing ships would be much more interesting as every ship would be really unique.

Another cool thing would be a hull-creator where you could design a hull in the game. The game would then calculate how much wood, iron etc. that specific hull would require and create it with your personal design.

However, sadly, I don't think it will happen becouse it would simply be too much work and take too much time.

I still like the idea though

Would love this but everything would have to be edited and changed and likely a system like that would be damn near impossible to make
