Whether you're a shipwright looking to share your skills with others, or are seeking other pirates to join in your pillaging and plundering, here you can find an entire list of mates and companions to join forces.

Black Widow Company
Black Widow Company was founded in February of 2002 by several active-duty Army personnel stationed at Ft. Meade MD while supposedly working, deep in the vaunted snoop-proof halls of the National Security Agency. BWC was primarily geared towards the world's first MMO-FPS "Planetside". BWC made a reputation as a team-oriented force using small-unit and combined-arms military tactics, incorporating many military concepts into its operations. We also dueled Sturmgrenadier and beat the crap out of them. HI SG, we see you in Spanish!! Since then, BWC has gone multi-game, starting with Battlefield 2 - where they placed third place in the TWL ladder matches. With nearly six years of active history, and a membership that has included nearly a thousand names with active membership of over 200 people at most times, BWC has always strived to promote fun, friends and family. Many of BWC's members are active duty, former active duty, and retired military. We have real-world gatherings such as paintball, barbecues and airsoft.
Blackhorse Faction
The Blackhorse Faction is a group of British-affiliated privateers and freetraders. We are independent merchants, tradesman, mercenaries, and occasionally hunt down the more unsavory criminals of the high seas. We strive to assist other members in their activities when we can, be it with shipping, trades, firepower, or even just information.
Bloody Limeys
We are the PotBS branch of the MatureAsskickers clan (visit us at matureasskickers.net). As such, we are a PVP focused group that will be very involved in port contention and shipping disruption. (While, overall, we are aggressive pvp'rs, we do have our share of "trader weenies") As a group we are focused on two things. First, we are here to have fun. We encourage relaxed, mature captains to apply. Second, we are here to win. Our clan competes in most gaming leagues and we have found the balance between being very successful while keeping it light, having fun and being able to laugh at ourselves (and frequently, each other). The British Antilles Development Company was established to develop the economies of Britain's colonies in the Antilles. We are primarily a merchant and privateer society, though we do plan to deploy a small navy. Moderate playtime and moderate roleplay are encouraged.
British Sovereign
Royal Sovereign represents the most noble hand of King George in his affairs in the Burning Sea. Our mandate, bestowed upon us by His Imperial Majesty, is to see to it that our good Captains, after sailing the long voyage from our blessed isle, are properly equipped in the art of naval warfare to protect our citizens from the cowardly advances of the French and Spanish fleets. We currently reside in the Roberts game server.
Cyfrinfa
We are a laid-back group of folks (mostly adults; and the non-adults are very mature) that want to make the most of and enjoy playing the game. In order to do that, we plan on having a large enough society to be self sufficient ship builders and munitions makers. By having each member contribute specific provisions towards the end-goal of ship building, we will spread out the vast labor and resources needed to do so. By selling "excess ships", as well as excess materials, we will be financially independent. Once we have steady resources, ships, and munitions, we will further British interests in the Caribbean by earning contention points through conquest and trade. Our society is Welsh themed, mostly due to the fact that two of the founding members actually lived in Wales back in the late 80's when our fathers were stationed there (both Navy). We have a Welsh flag, which is highly desired that members fly on their ships. We will also have a sail pattern of a red Welsh dragon, which is totally optional for member's use. (Currently awaiting approval). Oh, Cyfrinfa in welsh would sound like "key-frin-fa"...

East India Trading Company
The Honourable East India Trading Company society is what we feel a necessary extension of the existing NPC faction. We are a medium level role playing society with a strong economy system and big plans for control of the Caribbean. We are mature guild committed to friendliness with collection of gamers who have come together under the same ideology. With friendship, trust and an adult perspective on gaming we strive to elevate our game to the highest level possible. The real strength of our guild lies in the positive attitudes and the dedication of our members. PURgE was started shortly after the launch of SWG. We span across many MMOs including WOW, SWG, Vanguard, and EQ2. We are a tight nit family and try to limit the drama as much as possible. Royal Red Squadron
The Royal Red is a long standing multi-disciplined British society. We have an established command structure in place to support a large membership. St George Squadron of the White
Our Squadron is built on the principles and traditions of the Royal Navy. Our inspiration is of course our nation’s long naval history, our great naval hero’s and the doctrine in which they lead their men and fought their battles. To portray an accurate persona, it is necessary in all respects to conform to the established customs and practices of His Majesty's Service at Sea. The customs and practices referred to were the naval equivalent of the unwritten common law of Great Britain; and your persona is legally bound to conform to the law of the land, of which a large part is not recorded in statute form. Even though Pirates of the Burning Sea takes place in the year 1720 and many of the Naval Traditions we adhere to exist in the time of Nelson you must understand that historical accuracy in game isn’t the rule. Playability and Enjoyment of the game for the players will always come first. We at the SGS think the time of Nelson is by far the most shining moment of the Royal Navy & it is that ‘spirit’ of Nelson that we have embraced.

The Hanseatic League
We are based on the historical organization of baltic cities that banded together to protect their shipping in the 12th-18th centuries. We are a casual society based on fun and teamwork. We aren't one of those uberguilds that looks to dominate and inadvertantly ruins the game for some gamers. We just wanna have fun and enjoy the game together. We do look for mature gamers to recruit. We are more of a coalition than a society. No one is required to participate more than they like and members are not required to do things in-game they don't really want to do.

The Republic is a Society that is a combination of the factions British and Pirates. We are focused on Controling the seas (or as much as we can) and be known in the economy. The republic wants to have helpful and responsable members that are known to be helpful and feirce when asked to. Our mission is to be feared when our flags our risen over our ships.

United Forces
United Forces is a British society for Pirates of the Burning Seas, the much anticipated MMORPG. As a society, our aim is not just an individual aim, but a team inspired aim. We at United Forces believe in helping one another towards glory and dominance within Pirates of the Burning Seas, but most of all we all believe in having fun. This society is meant for social, regular and mature gamers that are willing to work as a team and to occasionally recognise a chain of command (at least in-game). Group of friends that started up with SWG, migrated over to WoW and are planning on migrating over to POTBS. Sint Maartens Zeevaarders Syndicaat
In the golden age of Piracy, the Dutch were a feared and respected power in Europe -- never successfully invaded by land, and the only European power to have landed an invasion force on English soil since the Norman Invasion of 1066. Relive that Golden Age with the Sint Maartens Zeevaarders Syndicaat! The Syndicaat (SMZS) is Pirates of the Burning Sea' premiere Dutch-themed guild. We are a group of captains interested in mutual support under the umbrella of a democratic company with wide ranging powers, including privateering, in the spirit of the Dutch West Indies Company. Whether in trade or in war, expect some stiff competition from the Dutch when dealing with the Syndicaat. Though the Syndicaat has a Dutch background, we have a very international flavor, both in and out of game. Our membership currently spans four continents, with representatives in Europe, North America, Japan, and Australia. We don't require your character to be Dutch! We do require you to be mature, responsible, and committed to supporting your fellow Company members however you can. Roleplaying is welcome and encouraged, but never required. The Legion
A 7 year old gaming comunity that started with Planetarion and jumped into the MMORPG bandwagon with Anarchy Online. In seven years, The Legion has been an important force in many other MMORPG games such as Starwars Galaxies, World of Warcraft and Eve-Online.

Soga Mijizi
History Soga Mijizi is an Aussie/Kiwi timezone guild that initially started up with the introduction of Star Wars Galaxies. The guild progressed on to other games such as Lineage2 and City of Heroes, and now at the present time we reside within World of Warcraft. The majority of the early members of Soga Mijizi came from Everquest. Many of the founders played on either of the Bertoxxulous, Quellious or Erollisi Marr servers. They were New Zealand and Australian players who were determined not to once again suffer the fate of being relegated to trying to raid on US timezone hours. They formed Soga Mijizi and worked to establish relations with other Australian timezone guilds in an attempt to bring multiple Australasian guilds together on a single server. What does Soga Mijizi mean? The name Soga Mijizi is Swahili, the translation of which loosely means "Brotherhood Of Thieves".

BotC is a pirate society on the Antigua server within the game Pirates of the Burning Sea. We at BotC strive to meet a code of ethics above the normal player. We are a democratically run society in which ever member has a say as to the how the society is run. We have a three Leader structure followed by what will be the Officers (Agents) that go above and beyond the call of duty; and then the Membership which will be the heart and soul of the society. New members are given a 2 week trail in which they can try out BotC and we can try them out. We at BotC understand that it's a two way process and both sides have expectations as well as needs. Each new member is taken as their own person and affiliation to any current member, while helps, does not promise any altered treatment. Not only does this mean that you are judged on your own merit, but this also assures that recommending players aren't held accountable for anyone else's actions other then their own. After your 2 week trial period, a society vote will be taken and majority vote will be respected. Trial members do not have a vote on any society choices. We at BotC do not believe that quantity of membership is more important then quality of membership. While we want to grow and become a more influential force in PotBS, this will not happen at the sacrifice of maintaining a society of respected and trusted players. This will mean that our growth will be slower, but in the length of most MMO’s, will last longer then mass invite societies that don’t care as much about the environment their societies members have to play in. We will strive to influence the economy, city contention on behalf of our pirate nation, and honorable PvP as often as we can. Members are expected to maintain a respectful attitude within society chat and all public chat channels as well as the PotBS forums. Reputation in MMO’s is the driving force behind how societies and players are treated and we at BotC want to set the bar high. Members are expected to help anyone, in society and out, if they can and whenever they can. In turn, all members can expect the society to help them as much as possible within reason. Cutthroat Pirates
Cutthroat Pirates have been in MMORPG gaming for over 6 years now. We tend to focus on one game at a time and strictly enforce in game RP. We starting up 6 years ago in Freelancer, then moved to World of Pirates. After both of these games started to fizzle we took a break and played WoW for 2 years. This break basically cleaned our house and we are starting fresh within the confines of PotBS. Our historic RP was to tax merchants, basically attack a merchant till they can't move then demand a portion of their loot. Although PVP is a large part of how we operate we are not greifers in the fact we will take bribes to stop the attack. This RP may change while in PotBS as players need to consciously flag themselves for PVP and as such this limits our original RP. Due to this we will be starting slowly and focus on finding our niche in PotBS. Initial recruits are asked to be mature, RP focused, honorable, and intelligent this is due to the fact the majority of the initial crew will be considered for key roles as our Society gets larger. Recruiting is open but we are very selective in those who we allow to fly the CTP flag. Don't let this fact discourage you I personally have met in real life about 20 of our previous members and most are still RL friends, just in different games or involved with family now as kids tend to take away your free time to raid and pillage.

The Assassins Allaince
The Assassins is an invitation-only Alliance. After a candidate has been nominated all active members must still vote on it , and the vote must be unanimous. One of the reasons we are exclusive is so that we don't turn the Alliance into a Navy (bigger is not always better). This also gives us the privilege of being very choosy. The Assassins look not only for skill, they also look for an independent (rogue) attitude and sense of humour--you've got to have this one to take all the smack ya get from the Navies. We have no Admiral or leader.
The Black hand
The Black Sun Corp. obtained the Crown's charter for permission to trade in the Caribbean. Eventually, ships belonging to the company arrived in the Caribbean, which was established as a trade transit point. In the next two years, it managed to build its first factory (as the trading posts were known). The high profits reported by the Company after landing in the Caribbean (presumably owing to a reduction in overhead costs effected by the transit points), initially prompted the King to grant subsidiary licenses to other trading companies. The Company was led by one Governor and 4 directors who made up the Court of Directors. The directors were appointed by the Governor and spoke for the rest of the company Traders were frequently engaged in hostilities with their counterparts. realizing the futility of waging trade wars in remote seas, the Black Sun decided to explore their options for gaining a foothold in mainland, with official sanction of the Crown to launch a diplomatic mission. After their foothold was set up Governor Charlie Chaos ordered 3 warships to be built. This was the birth of the Black Hand....
The Black Sails
November 22nd, 1718 would mark the start of a new era. On that fateful day, the pirate Captain Edward Teach, known more commonly and referred to as Blackbeard suffered death at the hands of an English Lieutenant. In the following weeks after our Captain'd death, the English government would interrogate us in an effort to force us (Blackbeard's crew) into painting a picture of our Captain as a criminal. For those of us that refused, we were ordered to the gallows. Luckily on December 10th, 1718 on our way to the gallows, a small number of crewmen were able to escape, and flee into the countryside. From there we took the sea again. We parted with one another, and went seeking new ships to command. We made a pact in the month of January... that we would meet again with our new ships, and sail in honor of Blackbeard as one. We would not rest until every last European ship lay at the bottom of the ocean.

The Nydian Brotherhood
The Nydian Brotherhood was a Norwegian criminal smuggling syndicate headed by the Nyd family. The Brotherhood operated from soon after the founding of the market town of Kristiansand in 1641, until the death of Eric Nyd's father in 1715. After his father's death, Eric swore Vendetta against the Danish Royal family. Eric plotted to assassinate King Frederick IV, but his plans were foiled and he found himself wanted for High Treason against the Dano-Norwegian Realm. Eric had to leave Scandinavia rather suddenly and he now seeks to resume Brotherhood operations in the West Indies. Eric expects cooperation from his brothers-in-arms in working against Danish interests. In return, Eric will aid his brothers in their own 'adventures'. Members of the Brotherhood can expect to be asked to attack Danish merchantmen on sight, with the intent to board first and sink otherwise (no quarter). The Brotherhood will usually consider terms from other nations' merchant Captains. The Brotherhood will avoid military entanglements, unless the target represents a very low risk and high reward opportunity for the Brotherhood. The Nydian Brotherhood is a small loose 'alliance of convenience' organization. Members may come and go as they please. Activities will include smuggling, piracy, convoy escort, trading, business ownership and taking various missions for special patrons.

Fated originated in Star Wars Galaxies in 2003, the week after launch. I inherited leadership of the guild in 2004.
