We’re currently in the process of releasing build 1.25 to Testbed. While most of our efforts are currently focused on polishing Power & Prestige as we approach beta, we have still squeezed a couple of juicy things into this release for you to play with.

Langridge Bay & Enfilade

These are two new environments which go together to form a brand new Port Battle encounter.

Langridge Bay is geared towards port battles that cater to faster and more nimble ships. The map contains many small islands that can be used for cover so that you can use your mobility for maximum advantage against larger and slower ships.

The fort known as Enfilade is located at the hub of a series of canals that provide specific fields of fire to give support attacks against the town. The layout of the fort is loosely based on Spanish forts in the New World.

Enfilade

The town section of the Port Battle encounter is Jenny Bay.

Langridge Bay and Enfilade have also both been made into new Skirmish maps which will also be available in 1.25, so you can practice your tactics!

Skirmish Ammo & Consumables

We spend a lot of time reading the forums to gather feedback about the live game.

One thing that stood out when we read forum discussions about Skirmish was the issue of ammo and consumable loss; players didn’t like the fact that while their ships were never “really” sunk in a Skirmish, their ammo and consumables would still be consumed as if it were a real battle.

In 1.25 we’re changing this so that ammo and consumables used in a Skirmish aren’t really used, so you can now fight truly lossless battles!

As I said above, we’re currently pushing 1.25 to Testbed. We’re looking forward to hearing your feedback on these new environments, and on the changes to Skirmish.
