Player-made, custom flags and sails are a big part of Pirates of the Burning Sea. We’ve added more than 3,000 of your creations to the game so far, and each one is a work of art that you—the creator—can take pride in. In no small part we’ve been able to approve so many because of our fantastic community of players, many of whom have taken it upon themselves to help others make the best flags and sails they can to show off in the virtual Caribbean.

There are a lot of things happening in the crazy world of User Content, so on with the update!

Test Our New User Content Tools!
Our beloved User Content community has been very patient while we worked to build the new and improved tools, and we can’t thank you enough. Our very own PHP guru, Ktatroe, has been working around the clock to create these new tools, and now we need your help! The new UC submission tools are live and ready for testing. Here’s what we need you to do:

Stop by Our UC Page and click every link, read every line, check out your past submissions and/or submit a new flag, post a comment on another flag and… well, just see if you can break it!

Once you’ve had a chance to check out the new UC features, stop by this thread and give us your feedback. Oh, and feel free to share any new features you would like to see as well!

New2d Steering Committee Members!
A few months ago we announced the 2D Steering Committee (2DSC), a group of players who’ve taken the lead in helping others achieve the flag or sail of their dreams, and who have gone above and beyond the occasional vote and helpful comment that so many players already provide. We’re now pleased as punch to see the 2DSC add two more members to its ranks: Boboid and Emwsand!

Already they’ve provided countless pointers to those new at making flags and sails, and helped dozens of players rise to the challenge of making four- and five-star User Content designs. Along with the rest of the 2D Steering Committee, they’re the ones to turn to for help and advice when making flags and sails.

Congrats Marion!
You may not know this, but both our 2D and 3D Steering Committees are lead by our very own Marion vanGhent! Marion has been supporting our User Content program for years, so when it came time to bring on a new member to the Pirates of the Burning Sea Community Team, Marion was the perfect addition!

Again, congratulations to Marion, and welcome aboard!
