Hello, Captain [your name], I wonder if you can help me with a strange matter. Recently, a group of beggars has been seen asking everyone they meet for their spare coins. No one seems to know where these vagabonds came from, but when Father Carlos Aledo discovered their arrival, he kindly offered them a warm place in the church to sleep for the night. Strangely though, none of them accepted, and they were seen leaving town just before nightfall. I'd like you to follow them and see where they sleep at night.
—Manuel Machado

Leave the Magistrate's Office, and to begin the mission, talk to the Coxswain and click Coins for the Poor.

Well, it seems that the 'beggars' are not so poor after all. This room is filled with doubloons and treasure! You're not sure why these people would resort to begging for coin when they are already so wealthy, but that question can wait. For now, you need to report your findings back to the magistrate so he can deal with the frauds.
. . . There sure is a lot of money in that chest. All of the beggars are asleep. Surely no one will mind if you nick a few coins for yourself.

Here you have the option to steal some treasure or leave it be. This decision is left to your best judgment.

Collect Your Rewards

After you interact with the treasure, leave the mission. Return to the Magistrate's Office and speak with Manuel Machado to collect your rewards.

Manuel Machado: "Captain [your name], welcome back. What have you discovered about those beggars?"
You: "I followed them to a cavern in a nearby cove. They have some crude shacks built inside there, and piles and piles of gold and riches. They don't have any need to be begging for change. That's for sure."
Manuel Machado: "I just had a feeling they weren't trustworthy. Thank you Captain, you've been of great help."

You will be rewarded with Gold 1610 doubloons and at least Experience 720 points.
