The Thing Beneath the Fort is the fifth and final mission in the Gluttony chain of the Seven Deadly Sins story arc. This walkthrough contains the following missions:

Overview

Talk to the Captive

Head to the basement door on the lower level of the fort to begin your mission.

To accept the mission, talk to the Captive. If you have just completed Pig Tracks, you should be standing right in front of the Captive. Otherwise to begin the mission, sail to Havana and talk to the Coxswain to enter Pig Tracks (Playa Baracoa). At the top of the fort in Playa Baracoa you will find the Captive.

You may have wondered what this group of raiders was doing at the fort. Why did they steal all the pigs in Havana? While this selfish and gluttonous act seems in character for raiders such as these, you'll soon find out that there are secrets hidden beneath the fort. As described by the Captive, here is the plot:

left quote
I never thought I'd get out of here alive. My captors are crazy. Every day they make these enormous meals and gorge themselves. I lost count of the number of pigs they slaughtered. What gluttons! I just wish I know what had become of my shipmates. They were taken below and one by one and none have returned. If you want to risk it, the door is right there.
—Captive

After accepting the mission from the Captive, head down through the basement door marked on your Local Map.

The Cavern

Once you've gone through the basement door, head towards Victor Knutton. He is indicated on your local map.
Talk to Victor Knutton to find out what happened to the crew.

After you go through the basement door, your character will travel down the basement stairs and arrive in a cavern underneath the fort at Playa Baracoa (near Havana). After wandering through the underground cavern, you will come upon a giant crocodile fighting a winning battle with two of the lost crew members.

Don't be a hero. At this point you should just accept that you've lost them, and go talk to Victor Knutton, who will be standing nearby.

Victor Knutton: "My crocodile will be so happy that it's feeding time again."
You: "Have you fed all the crewmen to this creature?"
Victor Knutton: "Not all of them. Some bits I ate myself!"
You: "You're. . . you're insane!"
Victor Knutton: "I am one of the Spiritualized, a disciple of Mayer Naumann. You couldn't possibly understand."
You: "I understand that you are an abomination in the eyes of God and Man."
Victor Knutton: "What do you know of the Almighty? I have been joined with God. I have been Spiritualized. God is within me. I cannot sin. I am beyond good and evil."
You: "Then you won't complain when I send you to Hell!"

That last line is your cue to begin your attack. You should be able to defeat Knutton using your standard avatar combat skills.

Collect Your Reward

To collect your rewards you will have to speak to Ladrón Govado inside of the Admiralty Office.

Sr. Govado: "Captain, you've returned at last. I hope you have good news for me."
You: "The good news is that Havana's food supplies are safe. The strange news is that those raiders and pig thieves were weird religious cultists engaged in mass gluttony and even cannibalism. I don't understand it, but I can tell you the problem has been dealt with."
Sr. Govado: "Cannibalism? Good God. What possesses people to act like savages? In any case you have more than earned your pay, Captain. Thanks to y ou pork will soon be back on the table in Havana!"

You will be rewarded with a Figurehead Pig, Gold 1550 doubloons, and at least Experience 640 points. The Figurehead Pig is a pretty unique item. Here is the description:
